We checked in around 3 PM and told the receptionist (a man with glasses) that we had a reservation. Unfortunately, he was extremely rude and didn’t even look at us when he bluntly said check-in was at 4 PM. A smile or a basic welcome would have been appreciated, but it was clear from the start that this wasn't that kind of place.
When we finally got to our room, we were quite disappointed. It was right next to the elevator, very noisy, and nothing like the photos we had seen while booking. The sink was oddly placed outside the bathroom, the room was very small, and overall cleanliness was poor. There was hair on the floor and in the bathroom – clearly not cleaned properly.
The only positive thing about this hotel was its location. However, next time I visit Chicago, I’ll definitely look for a different hotel where good service and cleanliness are taken seriously.
