This hotel is a reclaimed Holiday Inn. I personally think it has not reached the Wyndham Garden level of style and acclaim, but is charging those rates. The hotel is under rennovations and being upgraded. My room specifically did not have a smoke detector installed and the bathroom needed work and the curtains were not hanging correctly. Its the little things that make a hotel excellent beyond average.

Check-in staff were cordial and helpful, however it was clear they were doing long shifts to cover the overall lack of staff. Housekeeping did not occur during my stay. My washroom facilities were broken, and while I notified the staff that I would return at night and was happy for them to access the room during the day for repairs, I returned to the same issue. I was transferred to a new room, however this room had not been cleaned from the previous tenants. Again, the check-in counter staff were doing their best but management should really step up their operation, especially in the busy tourist season in Alaska.

This place is very old. We had to switch room in the middle of the night because of the water leaking. I did not realize that this hotel did not have any house keeping. I stayed for 5 nights and no house keeping for all those 5 days.

First the good pointsThe check in was prompt and easy. The hotel was conveniently located close to the airport and provided transportation to the airport. I was surprised at the size of the room. Now for the not so good. Very dirty room, prior guests clothing left on the floor, carpet not vacuumed, and used plastic cutlery left on the floor. The Furniture was dinged up and in poor shape. Limited parking. The hotel common areas were dingy and dirty. At checkout the night audit clerk came out from the office looking like she just woke up. Didn't engage with customers beyond checking out a guest.

Horrible experience!

The hotel shuttle did not pick us up at the airport although the front desk receptionist repeated told me that it was coming when I repeatedly called the hotel. We had to find alternate transportation at 1 am. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were not greeted upon entering. The room key cards did not work. I returned to the front desk 5 times to have the key cards activated. We were given another room on the 3rd floor and its keycard did not work either. Finally, we were given a room on the first floor that we were able to enter at 2:30 am. At 9 am housekeeping knocked on our door and asked when we were checking out. Checkout was at 11 am.

Was an adequate place to stay the night before we flew out at 6am. For the cost we expected a much nicer place. It’s old w tired decor. However it has a Nice amount of space in the room w king bed, desk/chair and TV chair. Had fridge, microwave.

Don’t recommend staying here

Rooms not available at time of check in due to housekeeping being behind. Staff not friendly. No towels available at pool. Not enough towels in room. 3 given and 4 people were in room. Dog hair on floor, bed may not have had clean sheets. Prices overall in Anchorage are high for hotels. Price for this was lower end but much higher than prices in my home state of Hawaii or current state of Washington of comparable hotel type.

Good: comfy beds, soft towels, nice showers, thick curtains The bad: the property is in a state of disrepair where many things don’t work and don’t get fixed. We were given a room where the door didn’t open. In the replacement room, the AC didn’t work, the clock radio was broken, the carpets were dirty, there was no “Do Not Disturb” hanger, the tv channel guide was inaccurate, and quite a few tv channels were frozen and didn’t work. Staff are friendly but overwhelmed and frustrated with the amount of repairs needed. Don’t expect anything to get addressed during your stay.
