Basic room, I was on the 3rd floor so noises from the bar were minimum. The toilet and shower were clean. I didn't like the pillow, too flat, but i had 2 as i was in a double room ( it seems those are the type of pillows they use here based in previous experience)

The accommodation is a little dated in places (some broken tiles in the shower and on the floor of the toilet). The double rooms have a spacious wardrobe, a practical washbasin, a small work desk and a TV. Unfortunately, the double room on my floor (2nd floor) had no lounge and no kitchen/fridge. It was a little too expensive for what was on offer.

Check-in is not 24-hour as described. There are no tea-making facilities at all. No microwave. Not by the river as described. Reception and dining area is a smoky bar. No extra blankets available when requested. Rooms have no en-suite so we came across neighbour on corridor in his underpants only. Cobwebs in room and walls needed painting.

Hotel has a bar on ground floor, people talking loud and smoking until 11pm which is a bit annoying. The cigarette smell goes into the room which is unpleasant for non-smoker. Then in the morning at 7am worker making delivery and also make a lot of noise. So actual quiet time is 8 hours per night only. Otherwise the room, toilet and shower area is normal for a hostel.

Non-smoking room smelt of cigarettes - opening window meant significant street noise but manageable levels mostly. Actually part of a bar and that is where reception is. Very basic accommodation and a little tired (definitely could use a refresh of paint/walls as lots of marks etc.) but all critical areas (bathroom, sink, bedding etc.) were clean. Convenient to the train station and for seeing the old town.

Clean yet smokey

Hotel staff is friendly & nice. Smokers in the bar below without ventilation. Smoke was rising to the third floor. The bar area is open from breakfast to midnight (expect the smell of smoke to increase as the day goes on). The room was very clean and they let us make sure it was what we wanted.

We requested a non smoking room on our arrival we found the door open and the room smelt of smoke that had drifted up the stair case from the bar down stairs. Not nice for non smokers.

Great place if on budget

My stay was comfortable and very pleasant, the owner and his staff are so polite and helpful, hostel is in a great location, convenient to commute to different parts, very easy to move about. Also great shops in the nearby areas. Would recommend the hostel to anyone

Wirklich positiv war die Lage mitten in der Innenstadt. Alles ist super zu Fuß zu erreichen. Aber alles andere war leider nicht so toll... Unten befindet sich eine Raucherkneipe, weswegen wir die Fenster im 2. Stock nicht öffnen konnten, sonst hätte es total gestunken. Das Zimmer, Etagen-WC und Etagen-Dusche sind spartanisch und alt. Aber am schlimmsten fand ich, dass seit gefühlt zwanzig Jahren keine Gesamtreinigung gemacht wurde. Bettwäsche und Waschbecken waren sauber. Aber in den Ecken stand der Dreck, an den Wänden waren Spinnweben & Staub, schmutzige Fenster, dreckige Wände im WC usw. Ich verstehe, wenn man kein Geld hat zu renovieren, aber auch Wände kann man mal abwischen oder mal überall gründlich putzen. Für das was es war, war es sehr teuer! Ich würde nicht nochmal buchen.

Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe am Bahnhof und mitten in der schönen Altstadt von Schaffhausen. Zum Einchecken muss man in eine Raucherkneipe gehen, aber oben im Zimmer war es sauber.
