Great choice

Loved the fact that there were at least six pubs across the courtyard from this hotel. It was wonderful to come back after a busy day to this very updated hotel in a quiet area and have so many great pubs right across the street.

The Apex Grassmarket was the perfect place to take my 28 yo daughter, it was in the heart of what we wanted to see and do. Staff are amazing, the conversations felt genuine and friendly. Had fish/chips, couple steaks, tacos, pizzas and Mac n cheese. It was all very tasty. Cool place, in the middle of a ton of pubs if you like a couple pints. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. I like it as it still has some of the small touches other hotels no longer have, biscuits to have with your tea and coffee and face cloths being a couple. There is a water station on each floor and a carafe in each room you can fill with water (which saves lots of plastic bottles). The hotel is in a great location for walking everywhere in Edinburgh, as long as your ok with hills. We would stay here more often but can be expensive at busy times, this was to attend a birthday meal with a friend mid week in March and got a great rate. Secure car park behind the hotel £20 a night (beware can be full and not spaces if its really busy). Comfy room, lovely view and great experience.

Was a great location to see the Old Town sights for the first time. Conversely, it was tough to sleep at night being in the thick of the busy weekend celebrations of six nations final day and then Paddy’s day.

Great location

Hotel was in an amazing location, Grassmarket is quite the bustling little street. Breakfast was amazing and our server couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Front desk staff were hit or miss depending who you got, and the rooms were of average comfort and repair. Good stay overall, but nothing to write home about.

The location of this spot CANNOT be beat, right on the Grassmarket Strip, and such a short walk from the Royal Mile. It's basically in the side yard of the castle! lol Maybe not the best locale for any who have walking issues and plan to go everywhere on foot. Service was very helpful, and room was clean, modern, and spacious.

This hotel was lovely, they gave us an upgrade because it was my birthday! We ended up with a balcony & a view of the castle! Our room did look like it had had a leak previously as there were some staining on the walls etc but it was clean & the tea / coffee etc was refilled every day! Parking was also super convenient although not a lot of spaces for such a big hotel!
