Solo adventures!

10/10 stay!! Would 100% recommend! Located in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the royal mile, this hostel provided the perfect stay! The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Check in was quick and easy! I took Advantage of the luggage storage upon arrival, which is free for all guests. The pod itself is a good size, each pod is fitted with a small shelf, a light switch and a usb charging port. They provide free fans and extra pillows can be provided upon request. Towels are £3 to rent and you can keep them for the duration of your stay. The shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughly my stay and where always tidy. The showers are amazing! They are super powerful and come with a waterfall shower head! Each pod is allocated a locker to store all your belongings, they are spacious and easy to use. The overall security of the property is great, only people staying are able to enter the rooms as you are given a unique code that gains you entry. Each night there are themed events that are complete free to join which is a great way to meet new people. They have a small restaurant downstairs that offers a variety of food options that are very affordable. There is also a water bottle filling station. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! I will definitely be booking again!!

I booked a bed in Pod in The Courtroom (mixed dormitory). The room is huge but everything echos within the space. I know there is only so much the hostel can do but one of the guest was laughing throughout the night. Then he woke up around 6AM to make a loud phone call. Another guest must have confronted him because it was quiet then. These are risk you take booking a share hostel. Regardless, I would stay here again. It's right in the center of everything.

The Pod is not super comfortable, but I moved to a single cell room which was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and I never had to wait for an open shower stall or toilet.

It was my first time staying at a pod hotel and I must say - that left me with a good impression. At first I had been most concerned about the cleanliness, especially with the toilet, but turns out that was unnecessary - the bathroom, from the showers to the toilets, was clean enough for me. As for the bed, save a single strand of hair I found on my mattress, which I found acceptable as it could be from the cleaning staff, there was nothing to complain about. As most of the guests respect the rule of keeping quiet in the sleeping area, I was able to sleep undisturbed all night. In terms of the security, you have to pass through multiple doors with passcode to get to the dorms where you will get a locker as well, and the city was generally quite safe so I wasn’t worried at all. Another thing worth mentioning is its extremely central location. Located right on the Royal Mile behind the St Giles Cathedral, it is literally the heart of tourism in Edinburgh. I was able to get to the train station, the castle, the new town on foot just under 5 minutes, which is perfect for any itinerary planning. Apart from the usual things you expect from an accommodation, there is also tons of activities you could join, ranging from daily walking tours to all kinds of tasting. Sadly I didn’t have the time to join, but if you are staying for a longer period, you certainly shouldn’t miss out! In conclusion, I was impressed by my experience and will certainly stay again traveling on budget.

The Court is in a central location in Edinburgh. You can walk to anything. The staff and food are wonderful!
