Very nice hostel, room was nice, clean and quiet. The pod was spacious and comfortable. Had a nice downstairs cafe as well. I also recommend doing laundry here if you are on a longer trip. There are only 2 sets of machines, but it was the cheapest laundry I’ve seen at a hostel. It actually cleaned my clothes and dried them well, unlike other hostel laundry machines I’ve experienced. The location was absolutely perfect, right off the main lawnmarket strip, everything within easy walking distance. Edinburgh castle was less than 5 minutes up the street. Only complaints were that the WiFi didn’t work very well on the 3rd floor, and the bathrooms weren’t always the cleanest. Other than that, a great place to stay in Edinburgh.

I stayed in a private room and 8-person dorm. The dorm was on lower ground floor, was freezing and SO LOUD from the street. I slept with my noise cancelling headphones on. The private room was very noisy with neighbors, and there was not hot water for a shower.

Couldn’t get into room on 3rd floor, had to go to desk, didn’t work again when I got up. 3rd time got in the room and someone is sleeping where I should be. 4 times going up and down, rooms not opening and lockers. Staff tried to help and understand technological issues but 4 times going up and down is getting silly. Room I go put in had no protection to outside noise, was hot and some small stains on the mattress and duvet. Obviously cheap and location is good but can’t say I recommend.

This is best the hotel/ hostel so far that I have stayed in Scotland. First of all all staff was great, premises was clean and food was good!

Clean, modern, cozy, as far as hostels go, this was pretty good. The only thing I wish they had was a lounge area that isn't the resto, maybe a fridge and a kettle at least a kettle. The resto doesn't have many healthy options so if you buy fruit or to-go veggies, you have to eat them the day of which sucks. Bring shower shoes and a microfibre towel. there's only one toilet and two showers on the ground floor....

The location is great if you want to be in the heart of the tourist district, so perfect for a first-time visit to Edinburgh. It's clean, has a cool vibe and the beds are super comfortable for a hostel. But there's really no place to hang out except for the tiny restaurant downstairs, which I think doubles as a tour group meetup space, so it always seemed overcrowded. There were only 2 mens toilets for the whole floor I was on -- not nearly enough, so they were always busy, at all hours, and even though staff made an effort to keep them clean it got pretty gross. They will also absolutely spam you with texts after you make your reservation. Staff seemed harried, annoyed, and unfriendly. If you arrive during mid afternoon, expect a long line to check in.

Solid hostel, but the curtains on the top pods do little to keep out light as they don’t actually cover the pod. The charger port in my pod didn’t work to charge my phone or laptop and there was no convenient spot in the hostel to sit and charge my devices. There are 2 seats on one floor for the entire hostel so the lack of any common room was disappointing.
