We booked this hotel primarily for the pool, only to be informed two hours before check-in that it was out of service—and had been for some time, with no plans to reopen soon. This was a huge letdown.
The hotel itself is quite dated, and cleanliness was an issue. The chair in our room was extremely dirty, and the showerhead wasn’t even attached to the wall. With four people in our room, we were only provided with two towels. After calling the front desk, it took 2.5 hours to get extras.
Temperature control was another issue. Our room was an uncomfortable 26°C, requiring us to run the air conditioning despite it being -17°C outside.
The free continental breakfast was a nice perk, but the selection was limited, and the seating area was far too small to accommodate the number of guests.
To top it all off, safety seemed to be a concern. While we were in the pool, a visibly intoxicated person attempted to get inside, pressing his face against the door window. It didn’t appear he was a guest. Then, during checkout, we were greeted by five police cars and an ambulance dealing with an incident at the hotel.
Overall, this was a disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
