After a communications error with my Motel 6 reservation, Expedia upgraded me to Hayward Inn. That helped me recover from a hot day with many frustrations. The elevator is extremely fast for a hotel elevator so I enjoyed the 4th floor view of downtown Eugene. Nice table and chair in the room so I enjoyed my snacks. Beds were comfy with nice bedding. Super quiet rooms, excellent breakfast. Pleasant light filled spaces. Thank you Expedia for saving the day.

We booked mostly for the pool. It was awful and outright disgusting. There was hair everywhere both in the water, on the chairs and dark footprints all over. The water was opaque, I seriously question when the water was last replaced or even had the chemical balanced. There were no pool towels available and the water was unheated. The hotel doesn't advertise properly and let guests know that there are multiple buildings - the two "out" buildings are three stories and do not have elevators. The stainwells are open to the elements. We experienced a few guests smoking on their balconies. The AC unit was loud and the mini fridge in the room rattled at about the same volume. We found hair in the shower and the towels. Both the room and the balcony needed a serious dusting /

The area is very walkable to UO (right across the street) and close to Starbucks and restaurants. The room was clean and the layout was great with a sink in the bathroom and outside of the bathroom. The gym was really clean and had newer equipment. The breakfast had a fairly large selection of options as well with cooked food and grab and go food.

Very nice hotel across from the University. The only anomaly we had was there wasn't a top sheet on the bed. We called the front desk and they said they would bring one up. But after 30 minutes and no sheet we went down to the front desk. After some confusion and two trips we finally were able to put the sheet on the bed. They could have handled this situation a little better. But it's still a great hotel and I would go there again.
