If I could give this place a 0 I would, front lady rude and as soon as we went in our room we were greeted with ROACHES I could not stay we left pls pay those extra 100 for another place plus there was no parking space

Check in staff was very unknowing or helpful. No WELCOME, no how nice of you to come, anything you need???? Yeah Nope not getting 300 dollar a night service. Power out to 1/2 my room, called, was looked at and solution, run an extension cord from other side of room that was working. Breakfast, it’s there, served like a cafeteria or prison line, slap and slop, now go to your room carrying all this stuff. Very very sad experience. Room overall is ok, old, musty but it’s like that with rooms outside and highly regulated A/C. Will not cool, always cycling on and off the temperature switch inside unit is set off probably 4 degrees. Only at night would room even cool to 74, stayed 76 ish during the day. Makes pool a necessity, but it’s crowded, dirty and always finding cups from Bar. Kids jumping from planters, total non policed area and anything goes, signs are to make everyone feel it’s organized. Unless this is a bucket list place to stay, I’d look for something worth the price. It’s NOT here!

The website/photos mot accurate at all. Room door didnt even close properly. Old and ugly room. Toilet wss awful. This property needs update and in need of a lot of maintenance. Would not recommend!

AMENITIES SAVED THE TRIP

The only things that made the stay great were the amenities (pool, spa, & breakfast) along with the great people that work at the redfish/pool area, plus the nice lady that was cleaning the breakfast area. The pool and spa were awesome, along with the convenient bar/food right by the spa. Furthermore, what made the experience bad was the cleanliness and the rude front desk lady who was also serving the hot foods in the mornings (egg, sausage, & biscuits). The night we got there, we went to check in and that older lady was not welcoming at all. She had a very bad attitude and unwelcoming demeanor along with her tone of voice like she didn’t want to be there. She also gave us the wrong room and we almost opened the door on a sleeping family but thankfully we knocked because we had a feeling and he opened the door all confused. We had to walk back and forth to get a new card for the correct room. The next morning that same lady was serving the hot foods and she seemed irritated because I didn’t know how it worked and griped at me to give her my plate. As far as the cleanliness, the main issue was that there were roaches all in the room— crawling in the restroom and over the dresser. It was so gross, plus the refrigerator was dirty and the towels had hair on them.

Good place on seawall

The room looked remodeled. It was a nice place for it to be right on the seawall. Walk across the street to the beach. They have a nice swimming area too. I would stay there again.

Nice little stay

The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The pool and bar area was really nice but alot of unwatached kids in the area. Some things in room are outdated but overall a good stay and one of our favorite so far in Galveston. Would stay here again.

This property's location is gold! it sits right across the street from the beach. But thats the only attraction. Its dilapidated and falling apart. You basically get what you paid for. The layout is great but other other guests seemed a bit sketch and the bathroom was awful with a dripping shower and unclean grout.

You can see the vision with the nostalgic decor. Staff was nice and welcoming. However, there was not much water pressure in the shower, both beds had dirty sheets, pubic hairs and yellow stains. Towels were also not clean. You can see in the room where there were areas of deterioration. The breakfast tasted terrible.

We were put in the same room last year that had a smell problem and was damp. This year it didnt smell and wasn't damp, however we did find some black mold/mildew in the doorway between rooms. Otherwise was a decent room with clean towels. The liquid soap is a bit too close to water in consistency but wasn't a deal killer. Shower pressure okay. The door was somewhat difficult to get open and closed, and didnt seal the outside sounds completely. Staff were all very friendly and helpful where needed. All I needed was new towels. Price for weekday stays seems unfair though, but the proximity to the beach is nice with the views, plus a hottub. It also helps that the other guests were quite friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at Gaido's. The room was clean Very quiet, didn't hear any noise at night. Pool was very nice. Had the worst frozen margarita at the bar... Yuk! All sugar and no tequila. I would stay here again.

The property isn't fancy but it's good for the price. The rooms are small but efficient. The breakfast is good, just watch for the ants around the cereal containers.
