First day of housekeeping: Never happened. My brother in another room got towel exchange, me nothing. In the room noticed carpet had sunflower seeds remanence, blond hairs. and mud, not mine. After I spoke to desk housekeeping stopping in to change towel, no bedding refresh , verified with my brother and his room. They don't do beds. Checked in with main desk after my CC had a charge of $6.90. I was informed it was using the in-room safe, Yes they charge for the safe, first for me and I'm sure it isn't a Quality Inn blessed item based on my previous stays at Quality Inns. Walking out the front from the lobby to the parking area and beach across the street, our attention focused on the smell of a big maybe a week or 2 weeks dead rat and ripe in a walking area on property, Hard for any Quality Inn employee to miss. On a positive note We want to give kudos to Madison who we watched setup and maintain the morning breakfast area then over to the front desk and maintain questions and checkouts on a Sunday morning, all with a smile and great attitude. Property owned and operated by Gray Wolf LP under license from Choice Hotel International. Room rates are no bargain. But located on the Seawall, Galveston Beach.

Highly recommend

The common areas were kept very clean even though the hotel was full for the vacation season. Other guests were very respectful. Pet friendly. We encountered several dogs who were all well-behaved. Our own pet had a great time. He said so!

Rooms were fairly clean. Halls were not. Carpet frayed at the elevator, bad smell on our floor, smelled like pot. Dirty parking lot and took 15 minutes to get an elevator to the basement for our luggage. Unfriendly staff at check in.

Not a bad beachfront option!

Our room was super clean and spacious! The view from the 4th floor was better than expected. The only drawback was that it is a bit outdated and there was a weird smell. We just brought a Febreze plug-in and it was all good. I would stay again!
