The satay was very comfortable and it felt like I was on holiday somehow. The vibe and aesthetic was really nice. I felt like I was on holiday. The fishtanks and ponds were so pretty and there was entertainment during the day in the suite which was so cool - really impressed

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Great reception, patient and understanding staff. The room was clean and spacious.
Breakfast staff were friendly and attentive. Hotel needs updating. Leaking ceiling in function room, stained toilet and shower but the power of the shower was very good. Crakes sink in bathroom. Coffee stains on wall and broken bedroom furniture.
Not the prettiest place but very functional. Yes a bit outdated however everything in the room is clean and comfortable. Service and food in the restaurant at dinner was good. Hopefully breakfast is good too. Hotel overall is good value for money. Would use again. Good to support a family run business.
Convenient location for lots of attractions, excellent staff and breakfast, rooms were ideal for our needs and evening meal satisfactory. Great stay.

Disliked: Room comfort
Rooms in need of updating.
The hotel is a ugly from the road. In fairness the lobby and communal areas are well presented and clean. The Owners are keen fish enthusiasts- there being 3/4 aquariums and a koi pond. The road is a little noisy at night. The room we occupied was dated and the beds were old and saggy. The room was clean.
We had a 2 night stay as close to the historic dockyard.
First impressions-The hotel looked tired and cordened off areas in the car park..however it was explained that they are renovating the hotel and areas. Dont judge it by it's cover.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food (breakfast and evening meal). Reasonable prices for the meal and bar drinks.
Loved the outdoor areas with all the fish..beautiful to sit out there in the sun.
We had a family room- it was great that we had a child's bedroom within our room! Only downside that it was quite bright in the morning-maybe could do with some thicker, darker curtains. It was warm, but two fans were provided for this. Comfy bed and had all the usual facilties.
We really enjoyed our stay there and a nice change from the usual large coporate hotels.
Good value as breakfast included in nightly rate. Offered a mediocre vegetarian option.
Free parking which was helpful.
Dated decor and rooms. My room had wallpsper lifting kn a corner (due to damp?)
Twice I requested a room change to a room overlooking garden, fishpond and fountain. Twice yhe lady never bothered to check. Just offered excuses that they had coach tours who had booked a year in advance do they had the nicer rooms.
HOWEVER. They gave the room across the hall from mine that did overlook the pond, etc to a young couple with a dog that showed up 2 nights after I had asked. They were not from any coach group as the coaches were elderly oeople. Employee coukd not be bothered to check and change my room. Just blew me off. For yhis reason I woukd not return.
Its an old hotel, but the property is safe and the staff is really attentive. The price was good and I was surprised by the quality of it genuinely. I had a good time here!
