our second stay here returning fro a trip on Heron Island. The air con in our room was on the fritz. This was dealt with quickly and required our relocation to a new room. Many thanks Lyn! We had an early flight the next day. The booked cab that was late, was chased up quckly. Many thanks again. The amenities in Oak apartments are always appreciated. We are usually tired, want to have dinner in our room, then collapse. Another comfortable stay!

We have been using this hotel many times but the room that was given to us this time had a water leak under the bathroom sink. We then noticed some tiny bugs (looked like spider mites, very small and fast moving) crawling all around the sink. They must have traveled over our bodies to the bed, then to the kitchenette bench top, and to make it worse, we realised after the checkout that they have moved into our cosmetic bags and suitcases!!!! We have complained at the reception upon checking out in the morning but the staff didn’t seem to take it too seriously until we have told them we couldn’t use the bathroom because of the leak and for fear of the bugs. They offered a partial discount but we have decided to make an official complaint to the management. Hopefully they’ll send us an apology and refund the fee.

Staff friendly and helpful, was great being able to just walk downstairs to a great hotel for dinner then joined onto the Coffee Club for breakfast. Only had one night here as we were travelling back home to Townsville from Brisbane. Would like to stay here again, next time for a few days.
