Very good

I stayed for a cheer competition near by in room 505, The room and property are beautiful just like pictures. As for The restaurant in the hotel the food could be better. My second complaint is that my room had no ac making my stay horrible left early in the morning because of it. I complained to front desk twice was given a fan but didn’t make it better. Was told that a manager would reach out to me but no one did and it’s 3 days later so decided to write the review. Oh and parking was $34 for less than 24 hours. also my windows were dirty from previous stay it was nasty.
I think the only thing I didn't like was that I could hear the plumbing in the walls every time someone flushed the toilet in the building.

The hotel is in an excellent location for downtown events. The lobby is very nice for a drink and music. There are fine restaurants within walking distance. The modern decor is a little worn. Bathrooms are clean but need an update. The air conditioner thermostat failed on the 2nd day of my stay, and it could not be repaired. The staff was very kind.
Room was great, location fantastic. A little noisy, sounds like someone moving sheet metal around all night. Not sure what it was. Despite this we enjoyed stay.
Our experience was great from check in to check out. Check in was very smooth. Ryan was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. We liked how streamlined the room was. Lighting under the beds, nice touch. The icing on the cake were the beds. Like sleeping on a cloud. Fantastic. Checking out I just did it from my phone. When traveling to other locales I will search for a City Flats Hotel first.
Great stay at a great location. Conveniently located, wonderful and helpful staff.

Nice looking hotel, awful dungeon like room
I am disappointed in this stay for $400/night. We checked in and the hotel appeared nice. But when we got to our room on the 2nd floor, it was like a dungeon. One small window high up that led to brick walls we couldn’t see out of. (This was not mentioned on the booking and the pictures showed a big bright window.) aside from not knowing if it was sunny out or raining, this didn’t make us feel safe in the event of an emergency. Is that even code?
We got our baby out of the car seat and noticed the stains and hair on the comforter. We went down to ask for a different room to which they said they couldn’t provide one. The staff was helpful and we settled for a new, clean comforter.
This hotel does look nice and was very conveniently located but the weekend experience in that dark room was one of the worst I’ve had and we’ve stayed in roadside motels on road trips through the mountains. Haha!
For that alone, we would likely not return

the parking situation was horrible. They advertise $24 dollars a day, but when you go to leave they say the day ends at 4 am and its $2 an hour after that. So parking is really $44 dollars. There are no fridge or microwave in the rooms and no coffee in the lobby. I dont recommend staying there.
I did not get a measuring tape, but I am certain our beds were not queens sized beds. I have a king at home and feel these were much smaller. It was one night and the rest of the room and stay were good. Checked in as 2 couples, so be sure to ask for extra towels as the room was appointed for 2 people, not 4.

Not worth the cost
Wasn't impressed with the room, especially for the total price of $560 for one night. The room was not entirely clean, there was no privacy for a shower as it was see through glass from the bed. The doors to other rooms slam shut which made it hard to stay asleep. There is no onsite parking, so be prepared to pay $48 to park overnight in the nearest public parking garage.
Very nice hotel in downtown Grand Rapids, within walking distance of many restaurants, bars and performance venues. The only fault I could find was the somewhat loud strange sound that occurs in the wall when someone in another room would flush their commode.
I love this hotel, great vibe and colorful decor. Most comfortabe bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. Hreat location, .2 miles from the Van Andel arena went to a concert. We will stay here if we come to grand rapids again.
I came by myself for a concert at Van Andel Arena. The walk was only about 3 blocks - 5 minutes or so. The room was very cute and clean. The bed was SO comfortable! Check in was easy and the reception desk clerk was friendly and helpful. When I returned from the concert, there was a different clerk. He wasn't as friendly - even a little rude. Overall I loved my stay and would definitely stay here again.

The deposit is $20 upon check in. The hotel is right near the Grand Rapids Police Department on Monroe Center (Not actually on Monroe Avenue). The hotel is near The Bob, Amway Grand, and is walking distance to the DeVos hall. It's also walking distance to the Kent County Courthouse.
The beds are very comfortable and soft. That was my favorite part. I was on the fifth floor and there was a lot of noise (maybe elevator?).
The room for the standard King does not have a bathtub to relax in.
The hotel bar isn't operating 24-7 so check to see if it's open when you go there.
As far as restaurants there's tons nearby that's walking distance.
If you wanted to go to the museum or other things in the City. The Work bus stop is free to use and circulates the city every 15 minutes. Or, you can jump on The Rapid Bus and that pretty much will take you anywhere.
