Hotel is ok but it’s a large and soulless feeling hotel on the outside of Coventry. Feels designed for conferences/weddings etc. rather than being a boutique hotel which I thought it might be. Nothing overall wrong with it, but not somewhere I would go again as I like smaller hotels

Staff, breakfast, location and pool facilities were all outstanding - easily 5-stars. Overall room experience (3-stars) room size was great and the hotel team kindly accommodated an extra matress. The room we were allocated - 015 - though had a lot of plant noise and was in need of refurbishment (one of the night lights had exposed plastic wires, there was a lot of plant noise - extractor or aircon - especially noticable at night, water took a long time to run hot, toilet seat wasn't fitted straight.) We reported these items on checkout and were advised that the rooms in the "new" wing of the hotel didn't have the same issues. I'd guess from this we were unlucky in allocation. We'd stay again but only if able to explicitly book/try the "new" accommodation.

Warm welcome at reception. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean as was the bathroom. As it was Christmas, they left a box of Quality Street in the room for us. Nice touch. Buffet breakfast was good. Value for money.

Lovely cosy room in the original building, nice spacious bathroom (only niggle is that a chair to put clothes on would have been handy). Comfy bed, nice sheets. We stay at the Chesford regularly and it's always a reliably good stay. Breakfast is very good and varied. Plenty of gluten free options for our coeliac daughter. We tried room service this time, easy to order and very tasty chicken burger. Staying again tomorrow night with dogs, this has previously been very easy, the grounds are fabulous for walks. Overall a great hotel with friendly helpful staff.
