Booked this room for my colleague who was told to leave £150 deposit which was double what the room cost. He was told this was just in case he took a "tv or anything" even though the room and breakfast had been fully paid. My colleague teported the front of house staff was extrememly rude and would not want to return.
The room was extremely noisy which resulted in my colleague having disturbed sleep.
We received an email regarding check in,as the reception was closed. unfortunately we didn't see the message. fortunately another guest had the telephone number and was able to ring for us. A note had been left for us at the side of signing in book. Lots of scratched paintwork in the room. Two single beds in the room of differing heights, one had a large dip in it.
Great hotel, really friendly staff, good value and tasty food and decent clean room, plenty of hot water for showers.
Good parking. Room perhaps slightly tired but definitely worth the money.
We was given a room which had numerous marks and scratches all over the walls, with stains on the carpets and a bathroom ceiling covered in Mold. All surfaces were dirty and ledges by the windows had dead bugs on them. We complained to reception who gave us a new room after expressing no concern to the moldy room. This room had no mold but was not ‘clean’
I booked two rooms, one for myself and one for a couple of friends
My friends room was very tired, marks and chips all over the side surfaces. (Old furniture painted over)
In the shower a pubic hair was found on the tiles and pubic hair was found in the bed sheets.
We complained and the room was cleaned and sheets changed.
The tiles in the bathroom shelf were cracked and lifting
My room (photos attached) was slightly better and on first inspection was fairly clean but when the cupboard doors were opened, they were covered in dust.
Bathroom had broken tiles and bath panel.
Other issue was the main reception bar was closed around 6pm.
We went out for something to eat, arrived back about 8.30ish to be told the only bar open was the one at the back due of a baby shower function that was on.
A pokey little place with a couple of tables room for around 6/8 people.
At 9.30pm last orders were called and the bar shut at 10pm.
At 10.30 we were told to move to the foyer as they closed the whole side of the hotel and locked up.
The hotel staff left at 11pm and the whole hotel was manned by one manager
I have never stopped in a hotel that is managed in such a poor way
