Only a one night stay as we were visiting friends in a nearby village. Beautiful location and grounds and a lovely comfy room in the Stables building. Such a lovely setting. I can see why it would be a wonderful wedding venue. Hopefully will return again some day as a treat.
Fantastic hotel and facilities, beautiful grounds and walks, highly recommended

Breathtaking & historical
We came to stay as a romantic couple get away and was put in room 211 which was a nice room the only down fall is the loo didn’t have a strong flush so never took away your doings and as for the shower and bath the water was a little temperamental..Also there is no lift at this hotel so getting bags upstairs is a nightmare without help but the building is set in some beautiful settings which makes it all worth it if you really want a totally out the way get away
Grounds looked amazing and the up keep of the grass and all the site has to offer was great, the gardens, pond and reading areas all look perfect and very picturesque and the hotel looks very elegant, room was very clean and modern and had everything my family needed.
The bar service in the evening was great and it wasn’t too busy so food wait times were not a problem.
The only thing that let this stay down was the initial greet with the reception team, the hotel is so elegant you would expect and better greet instead there was no happy faces and no big “welcome”.
We also had an issues with the room door not locking properly which wasn’t looked into despite me raising this concern.
Overall a nice stay, my family enjoyed just small changes could give it the wow factor a little more.
Great day spent enjoying afternoon tea and overnight stay
Breakfast was wonderful.
Thankyou
Oliver

Disliked: Staff & service
I was overall disappointed with our stay. We arrived quite late and were only staying for essentially half a night as we had to go to the airport quite early. Upon checking in we were told the restaurant was open until 10pm and last order was at 9:30pm, and then the bar was open until 12am. We arrived at 9:15pm assuming we could still place an order as we were told and the staff told us the kitchen closed at 9:10pm (literally 5 minutes earlier). Granted, this place is in the middle of nowhere so there are no other options for food that time of night. After having us wait 15 minutes they finally agreed to let us order food. The food & service was quite mediocre, it honestly seemed like the staff was anxious to just get their job done and close up. Aside from that, the heating was not working in the room so they offered a space heater (for a pretty large room by the way and it was a very cold evening). Of course in the countryside it can be expected but we also spotted a massive spider in the hallway on the way back to our room. A bit disappointed as my husband was only in the area for one night with me and that was our experience. Overall, I wouldn't recommend as there are so many other amazing properties in that region. Only plus side is the exterior property looked stunning even though we didn't get to explore it and it is also not too far from LHR / central London.
Didn't care about non wedding guests. Took my wife and 2 young kids, reception was rude, and our room was not cleaned properly.
I sent them an email about our stay and they didn't bother to reply.
Was very disappointed, as is a beautiful place, but we were not able to enjoy it as we wanted.
The translation of the hotel’s name is spirit home - relevant as the architecture is SO fairytale gothic towers. If I hadn’t seen such riches I’d be crying out for more!
