Our room was facing the interior of the hotel so our view was of the hotel walls. There was no view at all so it’s good that we were only there for an overnight stay but I would have expected more for the expensive price. Also there were a lot of people there for picture taking for the room and they were very loud. They were promptly told to leave the hotel. Also there was an event that night so it was quite noisy in our room until 11 pm. It was quiet after that time. We stayed at another hotel prior to 21C and were on the 18th floor with a river view which was fantastic and we should’ve stayed there the last night. Instead we wanted to experience this one also for the museum but the display was a disappointment at this time. I am sure that changes though. The front desk staff was nice and they even held the door for us each time we arrived and also was very helpful with parking. I read that the food was great but we did not visit the restaurant. The photos on the wall of the bar was quite a surprise and made us a bit uncomfortable. However the staff there was also very nice.

Very comfortable bed and great shower. Quiet room. Terrific location walking distance to many places downtown. Would be a five star but for absence of good workspace in room (no desk). Not an issue for non-business travel, but if you need to work in the room, there is not a good comfortable place to do so.

It was a great stay at Red Penguins Inn. We appreciated the art work and displays. The only drawback was the hotel has no gift shop and coffee station. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Amazing combination of art and hospitality. Great ambiance, staff, food. Large & quiet rooms, nice amenities with respect for the environment. Good gym, good downtown location close to museums and highways. I’ll return here again & try this chain in other cities. Highly recommend it.

Access to the museum was the amenity I appreciated. Customer service was good. Southern hospitality showed. However the mattresses are extremely firm and the water in the shower was not hot. There was also an escalated price for Saturday evening due to a city event. That city event was canceled prior to our stay and the cost per night was not changed. Also that weekend nightly rate makes no sense for a hotel without a pool.

Artsy Hotel

Love the art museum portion that makes this hotel unique! The room was big enough and has nice details like brick wall on one side of the room and black light lit bathroom. They even offer a free bourbon nightcap. They also have their own private select bourbon bottles for sale, but keep in mind they aren’t open for sale earlier in the morning.
