Our home away from home in Charleston!

We had an amazing stay. Matthew was a joy. He went out of his way to get to know us and help with recommendations and reservations. Everyone was nice and helpful. The little things make the difference. The breakfast basket was lovely and the wine and cheese every afternoon was a great way to meet other guests. The Restoration is our home when we are in Charleston.

I just returned home from The Restoration today and I absolutely LOVED my stay. Despite having to wheel our own suitcase to our room and a basic check-in greeting & check-out process, I will definitely stay at The Restoration again. I booked the Signature Suite, which was super spacious, including one and a half bath and a living area with a 2nd TV. We were contacted a few days before arrival by Matthew and we agreed to a charcuterie basket and white wine upon arrival and it didnt disappoint! The Watch Restaurant on the rooftop has the most delish cuisine and well-crafted cocktails. Not to mention sweeping views. Breakfast is delivered daily in the custest picnic basket. I saw a lot of complaints about the breakfast, but I think staying about 3-5 days allows you to see the variety offered. We enjoyed hot sausage, egg and cheese english muffin sandwiches, yogurts with muffin and granolas, savory scones, sweet treats, fruits and croissants during our 5 night stay. Restoration is half a block from King Street, a main shopping strip. Shop known brands like J. Crew, Gucci, LV, Anthropologie and Club Monaco, as well as the cutest independent boutiques with the most unique clothing. Restaurants, bars and lounges are in abundance within walking distance! And Rise on-site for coffee. My faves are Millers All Day for lunch, Halls Chophouse for the most divine steakhouse experience (go for the bison steak 😋) and Felix Cuisine for delish dishes and drinks.

Dissapointing!

Disappointing! -pool heater broken -missing & covered up smoke detectors -room smelled like smoke -could not charge our electric vehicle at valet parking garage -comp breakfast was a plate of cheese -no water pressure -they gave us a different room than we booked so we didn’t have enough room for everyone. They made us purchase an additional room! -no reservations available for guests at hotel restaurant -lots of water damage throughout buildings Overall beautiful but very disappointing! & our valet was very kind

Our room has a patio! We love all the treats like crackers and pimento cheese, water, and cozy robes for 2. Everything was above our expectations. We enjoyed our cozy wine & cheese in the Library after an afternoon of shopping and traveling. Well done.

Our experience was first class and we were so happy with the staff, and grateful to Matthew for the friendly happy hour with sweet guests and the chocolate chip cookies were a hit before bed.
