I had an excellent stay at the Sligachan Hotel. The hotel is steps away from breathtaking scenery for walking or hiking and a quick bus/car ride to Portree for shopping and dinner.
Martin, the manager, was so helpful and kind. He drove my friend and I from Portree to our train because the bus schedule that day was not aligning well with our train schedule and morning activities. He also gave us great tips on the best things to do on the Isle of Skye and made sure that all of the guests were enjoying their stay.
The breakfast was high quality - I loved the smoked salmon and eggs and the fresh fruits and yogurts.
The receptionists were always friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions.
I would recommend the Sligachan hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable stay right near the Cuillian Mountains and a quick commute to Portree.
As we had some disability and had a room with an accessible bathroom, This was on the first floor with a considerable number of steps and no lift. However, we were returning the following week and, although we could not be given a ground floor room (there weren't any) the staff promised us a room on our return that only had a few steps instead of a full flight of stairs. This was not ideal, but much better. Otherwise we liked the hotel and the resturant and the breakfast were excellent. We cannot however, recommend this hotel to anyone who is disabled.
The hotel was well located on the main road into Portree on the Isle of Skye. It was near the Fairy Ponds & an easy drive to Portree and all of the Isle of Skye was very accessible. Offered a good breakfast & the pub next door was excellent - friendly & good food.

Fancy and clean room and common areas. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff was very attentive and polite. The only issue we experienced was a technical problem with the electricity in our room, which suddenly stopped working and wasn’t fully repaired. Despite this, overall it was a lovely and recommendable stay.
Centrally located for driving around Isle of Skye. Nice complimentary snacks/ drinks in room. Beautiful rushing stream, mountain views and trails right outside. Sheep wander around peoperty. Good bar/restaurant with live music next door.
Excellent hotel in a great location. Staff were very helpful.
The room was modern and spacious with a comfortable bed.
Breakfast was of a very good quality.
Definitely recommend this hotel.
Location was excellent for exploring Skye. Breakfast was good at hotel and dinners were good at Seamus’s. Only issue was parking a few times due to people parking in hotel spaces that were not staying at the hotel. Otherwise, we had a great time and would recommend to others.
Lovely setting and comfy rooms. A bit pricey and breakfast could be included

This was an expensive nightly rate and yet the bathroom was in a bit of disrepair. The tub was cracked in multiple areas. The bed was older and not that comfortable. Good breakfast but not the most friendly staff everywhere. Water was tinted brown.

The place is old and has character, but the rooms defer greatly and they will charge the same no matter if you get a nice big room or a room as big as a closet.
Beautiful views from the room. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. Cozy bar in the hotel along with a livelier bar attached next door gave us lots of great options. Highly recommended!
