Staff 10/10, location 8/10, local beaches 7/10, resort 8/10, room, extremely cute, but a little complicated with the doors, insect and reptile access, had very few, but some insects and lizards in the room, but that’s part of the experience I guess, that style of resort. And I did choose the basic room, so maybe upgrade if you’d like. Though my room was sweet and comfortable, just the doors are small lol

This was our most expensive stay in our 1 month trip in Bali, and unfortunately the most disappointing! Both myself and my parents who were staying in a different room had poor experiences with our stay. To start, the wrong address is listed on Expedia. It brought us to their other location, and when i told the front desk she did not seem to care. The rooms need major maintenance. The shower waterfall does not work in both of the rooms so you have to use the handheld shower head. The sliding doors to the bungalows need grease on them as they are extremely hard to open. The water situation is not fair at all. They provide you with 1 bottle of water per room and if you use it all between brushing teeth, drinking water and the kettle, then they charge you. The wifi kept turning off and on every 5 minutes and rarely worked properly. The good and overpriced.I cant have dairy so I requested almond milk as I had previously, but they said their supplier ran out and they had no other dairy free options available. They were also out of all dairy free plant based ice creams that are on their menu. The neighbourhood is noisy, dogs and roosters screamed all night so I could not sleep. My parents AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night so they had to move rooms at 1230am by the security guard as there was no other staff on site. So he had a terrible sleep as well. The lock on the door is pointless and people can still get in with the bungee cord wrapped around multiple times.

This place was amazing, the beach is only a 2 minute walk down a path from the resort. Staff were amazing and always happy to help and the sunset yoga was a bonus. Pool area was so nice and room was frequently cleaned and perfect size for 3 people

Beautifully situated high on a cliff over the sea. Property is setup like a little village with each bungalow set in its own private setting. Close access to beach (stairs down the cliff) with bars and caffes Gorgeous pools and gardens. Feels like a private paradise. Helpful kind staff.

Location (access to Balangan Beach), value for money, and the design of the place were the main reasons my husband and I chose La Joya, and it delivered on those. The main issue is noise. There are feral dogs at the neighbor property that bark ALL night long. We told the front desk and they gave us ear plugs (no other available rooms) and said we could switch in the morning, which we did (from noisy room 10 to room 1, next to the front desk). Less dog noise there. There are also roosters (which you hear almost everywhere in Bali anyway), and doves trying to roost in the thatched roofs. Balangan Beach has a chill, surfer/Bohemian vibe. The beach access was fine, but the access stairs are not maintained by La Joya - they're steep and uneven. There's a field where cows graze between the resort and the bluff - you gotta dodge cowpats to get to the stairs. It didn't bother us, just not like the photos, you know? The front desk was super helpful--even acting as an ATM when we needed cash for a taxi. The spa was lovely and I got a great massage. Breakfast was good & large - you get a choice of 4 entrees included, or you can order extra. We ate other meals there too, and I thought the prices were reasonable for the area. Nice pool area. The place needs a deep clean. Bedding/towels - clean. Day bed/mosquito nets - not so much. Overall maintenance is lacking - many things need to be fixed/painted/replaced, like rotted decks. Lovely grounds and helpful staff though!

Really beautiful and luxurious hotel to stay in. Path down the cliff straight to the beach otherwise most attractions are a 30-60 min taxi journey away Highly recommend the Yoga classes

Bungalow 4 was 2/10, shower, pillows and coffee were great. Doors not closing, hinges falling off and deck boards rotted and unsafe. Complained and moved to no.7 in better condition. Beach is down cliff and too rocky for swimming, just surfing. Long drive to shops or kuta for markets. However, restaurant and pools lovely. Grounds were kept beautiful. Massage great. Bit overpriced for what it was.

Highly recommend! Wonderful private bungalows, great view of sea, pool refreshing, Food is outstanding the Watermelon tuna tartare is best I have ever had!! Balangan beach is easy to get to, Good rock stairs, beach is beautiful with beautiful sand and many surfers, sunset spectacular. Get a car if there a few days quick 15-20 drive to Jimbaran go for sea food dinner on the beach great food and experience.

Everything about the hotel was great except be prepared to have mosquitos in your room. Ensure the mosquito net is kept closed a all times and make use of mozzie coils.

Total Bliss.

Great to get away from busy places. From start to finish, our stay was perfect. Staff very professional and friendly. Food was great, lovely setting by the pool, with sea views in background. Position was incredible, we watched the surf at dawn and sunsets..... magical! Rooms were individual and very spacious. I loved the mix of natural materials of stone and wood, and furnishings were well thought out using good quality products. Place was spotlessly clean. We stayed in the big villa, each room has its own private deck and garden area, which is kept Lucius and tidy. 2 big pools, which again kept clean and tidy. Short walk to the beach, where you could watch sunset and enjoy food and drink at beach front shacks. I could not fault anything here. Magical and peaceful.
