Friendly staff, great location and within easy walking distance to the train station, rooms are a little tired but comfortable. On site parking available foc but quite tight in places.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming but the room is very dated, curtains hanging off so don’t completely close, cobwebs and generally cleanliness of room which is a real shame as the location is fantastic.
Sadly this hotel is extremely old fashioned, has issues with cleanliness within the room to the point where I felt filthy, no breakfast after certain times although advertised as ran out and issues with pigeons right outside the window of my room.
I have complained to Expedia. Good location but aside from that sadly everything about this hotel is not good!
The hotel is in a good central area for Tonbridge with easy access to shops and Tonbridge School which was were my daughter was getting married.
All the staff we met were polite so had no problem there.
Unfortunately what let's the hotel down is that it is in dire need of renovation.
Room 5,the bathroom shower could not be adjusted from scalding hot, so impossible to have a proper shower, there was also lack of basics with barely enough toilet paper for my wife and myself.
The bar had run out of half the shown drinks on the pumps when used.
We did not have breakfast so unable to comment on that.
I stayed here whilst attending an event at TOFS Very convenient for Tonbridge and railway station. Always staff available to help. Comfortable rooms, i would stay again if visiting Tonbridge.
We are repeat visitors to the Rose & Crown. There's no other hotel with location and free parking. As usual we had a twin bed room in the annex. The beds were okay, not fantastic. Room was clean, and the hotel was quiet at night. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Although, we did have to ask for towels and loo roll for the bathroom when we arrived. Shower was the biggest let down - nonexistent water pressure - but there's a bath if you want it instead.
The hotel has a long tradition at the heart of the town, but it really needs a refurbishment.

Booked us into room 14 which was cold.
Spoke to reception who informed me that there was no heating in this room. Told them that we could not shower bathroom freezing and to sleep would be too cold.
Very good and we got transferred to room 109 which was lovely but found out cold tap
Didn’t work.
No a hassle for us and room wax warm.
Breakfast great and staff are friendly and helpful

Could do with a revamp
Fantastic service from staff, breakfast really tasty. Carpet had rip in,bathroom had only net and no privacy covering so when lights on rooms opposite or houses opposite can potentially see through. Was truly shocked this is a Best Western Hotel

Almost fine
Good location on Tonbridge High Street, decent price at the last minute. Staff friendly when around.
However, the room was cold and the radiator didn't work; there was no cover on the mattress (sheet straight onto mattress is weird); and the shower was dirty and didn't work properly.
Shower: body hair on the wall and shower curtain, water pressure/temperature awful. The water was so hot, and the cold pressure so low, that a hot low pressure dribble was all I could achieve. It was as disappointing a start to the day as it sounds.
There was no one at reception when I checked out.
It's an old 'characterful' building, but there's no excuse for the dirty shower.

Could be better
Old building so expected some issues but shower was not good, I’m not tall and had to bob down to get showered and the temperature was impossible to get reasonable!
Also not doing evening meals even tho the welcome pack in your room gives meal times for evening meals!?
Room on Road front so noisy!

Pleasant Stay
Pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Yes, the floors creaked but its what you would expect in an old building such as this. Plenty of hot water for bath/shower. However shower lost pressure due to lots of people showering at the same time each morning. There was a good choice for breakfast and cooked to order. Excellent location in the centre of town.
The only positive is the staff were friendly. The state of the place is not what is shown on the website. When we arrived and were shown to our twin room, we walked into a furnace. The room was so hot, we turned to radiator off straight away and opened the windows. We had to leave them open. After we came back for the night the radiator was still so hot you couldnt put your hand on it. I only slept for two hours as my mattress was so old and the springs were loud and digging in to me. The following day i went to the front desk and told them we were leaving and not staying the second night. He offered us a different room and we accepted. The room was just as hot, he turned off the radiator. Now being on the ground floor we couldnt leave the windows open. When we came back that evening there was only one small light working in the hall. It was really dark.Going in to the room it was as hot as we had left it, the radiator still hot. Also the doors to the rooms are NOT fire doors and the catches don't lock. My mattress was not quite as bad, but the other one was. When i told them that we hadn't slept well and about the lights not working. He did not have anything to say. Not so much as a sorry or either a discount or complementary breakfast. Nothing. It is a Best Western Hotel, we expected more. A total rip off. Do not believe the photos on here or the website, it does not reflect the state of the place.

Info in room out of date. Listed provision of lunch and dinner - incorrect. Bad lighting in hallway leading to room. Room where breakfast served cold, therefore meal was cold before finished. Toaster did not work, only dried the bread without browning.
My fourth stay at this hotel friendly staff large breakfast very conveniantly located.

Great location, classic building.
This is an old building so, if you like creaking floorboards and a warren of rooms, it is your sort of place. Conveniently located at the top of Tonbridge High Street, with car parking, it provides easy access to the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent.
