Can't Wait to Return

I was in Finland on business near Kuopio, and the hotels were full in that area. So, I opted to stay at Tahko Spa, about 40 minutes north. I was glad I did. My wife and I felt like part of the community. The apartment was immaculate and the staff was incredible. In all of my travels to 70 countries, the Finns are amongst the most warm and hospitable.

Summer vacation at Tahko

Overall a really great experience! We had our own apartment (no traditional hotel rooms) with 3 rooms(!) and also kitchen supplies for cooking. The only flaws that we discovered was that we couldn't find any recycle bins/containers for plastic (only paper) or metal recycling in our area. We were also hoping to get some fishing gear and hire a small boat at Tahko to go fishing, but we had to find it elsewhere. As Lomahillo fishing service was closed.

Comfortable beds and a good night's sleep in this Vuori apartment. A bit of a bad smell in the bathroom because nobody used the shower/sauna for a while. This went away after the first shower. I wish the kitchen was stocked with basics like salt and pepper. That would have helped.

Kokonaisuudessaan melko tyydyttÀvÀ majoitusratkaisu kahdelle hengelle. Tila ruoan laittoon oli hieman pieni. ParisÀngyssÀ oli liian pehmeÀt patjat ja sohva jo parhaat pÀivÀnsÀ nÀhnyt. Rauhallinen sijainti. PÀivÀn lehti haettavissa alakerrasta oli kiva lisÀ. HÀkkivarastot olisivat vaatineet oman lukon tai olisi voinut panttia vastaan lunastaa, mutta asiasta ei informoitu vastaanotossa.

Yö asuntomessu-asunnossa

Hotellin nimessÀ sana spa hÀmÀÀ. Spa on aivan pieni (tylsÀ aikuisille) ja sen kÀyttÀminen maksaa erikseen 15 euroa. Luulimme tulleemme spahan isolla S.llÀ ja petyimme aluksi pahasti nÀkemÀÀmme ja kokemaamme. Sitten ymmÀrsimme ettÀ huoneistohotelli oli se juttu ! Kohtuulliseen hintaan saimme kÀyttöömme suuren lukaalin omalla saunalla, kahdella makuuhuoneella ja parvekkeella. tÀydellisesti varusteltu keittiö. Pesukone ja kuivauskaappi. Aivan mahtava kokemus jylhissÀ maisemissa. Olimme tÀysin myytyjÀ. Kokemus oli ÀÀrimmÀisen rentouttava. Aivan kuin olisi yöpynyt asuntomessu- asunnossa.. Oli hienoa kun matkan puolivÀlissÀ pystyi pesemÀÀn ja kuivaamaan kaikki pyykit loppumatkaa silmÀllÀ pitÀen. Rakennus jossa asuimme oli uusi ja raikas. HyvÀ siivous. Ihana sauna. Paljon pyyhkeitÀ ja muita liinavaatteita kÀytettÀvÀksi. Ihana rauha. YstÀvÀlliset ihmiset. NÀin ettÀ jotkut ajoivat mönkijÀllÀ golfkentÀlle. Kaikki oli ajateltu asiakkaan parasta ajatellen ( omat hÀkkikaapit laskettelijoille ja golfaajille) Itse olimme vain ohikulkumatkalla. Tuntui kuitenkin aivan kuin olisi ollut ulkomailla. Erinomainen hinta- laatusuhde, jos tulee isommalla porukalla. Suosittelen lÀmpimÀsti kokeilemaan Tahkoa! KylpylÀ tai yöpymiseen sisÀltyvÀ aamupala ei ole se juttu vaan juuri tÀmÀ huoneistohotellin omaleimaisuus ja asunnon tÀydellinen varustelutaso joka ei jÀtÀ ketÀÀn kylmÀksi.

ViittÀ vailla erinomainen

Asunnossa oli muutama hassu yksityiskohta, joilla se oli saatu tuntumaan ahtaammalta kuin olikaan. PöytÀ, jonka jalat eivÀt ole pöytÀlevyn alla? EhkÀpÀ kivan nÀköinen, mutta asukkaiden varpaat ovat nyt mustelmilla kun pyötÀ ei osannut kiertÀÀ riittÀvÀn kaukaa. Televisiota ei myöskÀÀn ollut kiinnitetty seinÀlle vaan sen alla oli massiivinen kaappi, jonka tarkoitusta ihmettelimme. Hissi on mahdottoman hidas. Jos kovan hissin ovien sulkeutumista odotettuaan erehtyi painamaan "ovet"nappia, sulkeutuminen hidastui eikÀ nopeutunut niin kuin yleensÀ.
