This is the best hotel in Kyoto. The property is very beautiful and relaxing. The room is very spacious, the amenities top notch, the tub is amazing. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Traditional Japanese breakfast with also western dishes. The customer service is the best. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and helped us with directions and recommendations and even helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel.

This is a lovely hotel, with great staff and fantastic rooms, right in the heart of Kyoto. It's a short walk from Kyoto station, with good travel links and plenty of shopping and dining options within walking distance.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Kyoto station, and a quick walk over to the Higashi-Hongan ji temple and Shoshei Gardens. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodated our every need. We had dinner at the restaurant which was the best meal of our entire trip! Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hotel was wonderful. Welcoming, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast options, a cozy lounge with complimentary beverages, and our room was incredibly comfortable. I miss the large wooden bathtub already! There were many excellent restaurants nearby as well as attractions to see.

Beautiful hotel, it has everything you could possibly need or want out of a stay in Kyoto. Traditional, modern, clean, beautiful. We loved it. They do such a good job of explaining everything, and the room has books guiding you around the area and recommending things to do. Will definitely be back!!

Kanra was billed as 4 star hotel - it just isn't Location is not scenic and not close to anything you'd visit There are some very odd design choices in the rooms Staff are GREAT however!
