The location was much farther out than it was indicated, which made things difficult to catch a taxi and I had to walk all the way to the main road. The room was much smaller than it was in the photos and not very comfortable to stay in. There were no separate amenities provided, and overall, the stay was not satisfactory and didn't meet the expectations for the price. However, the female staff members were very attentive and helpful. The male staff on the other hand, weren't very accommodating nor did they provide sufficient service or information.

Very unique hotel in walkable distance from Kyoto main station. We upgraded our room however it was still extremely small and we hardly had any space for our luggage. The staff were lovely but the hotel is very dark and unfortunately we didn’t have the most comfortable stay due to the low bed and very tightly packed room.

Form over function - OK for 2 days max.

The room was dark, Toilet and shower room where glass boxes that you needed to draw around a shower curtain to get some privacy from the room. The room had frosted windows you could not open with shutters and black out blinds. Getting into bed was not easy as it was mounted on a low platform - I banged my head when getting in and out of bed. Breakfast was delivered on a tray - same each morning - in the breakfast room with a small orange juice, some type of soup, salad, a slice of ham with scrambled egg and a small piece of potato salad you also got bread and croissant, you could get coffee or tea refills. Oh, did I say the room was dark, well so was the rest of the hotel. The location was OK, 15 min walk to the station or jump on the 50 bus (210 yen), but I would have preferred to be a bit closer. I would not choose to stay here again if I was to come back.

The property itself was really nice, however a complaint that I have is that our room was quite dirty. We found a used contact lenses next to our bed upon arriving and plenty of dust on the head board. This isn’t so pressing but quiet concerning on their cleaning procedures. Overall we had a good stay, we also participated in a traditional calligraphy class which was really fun!

The lighting inside the building was dark, even in our room. The room accommodations were small. We had a room for 4 people and there were only 3 of us and it was very cramp. The bathrooom facilities were very cramp.
