Unbelievably small rooms - and not the picture of the hotel you see on this app- no place for luggage with the only storage option to put on top of furniture. We had a huge bed but had to get in from the end as there was no space either side / just wall to wall bed in which only one person could be at the space below at a time. If you want a decent room you will have to pay large amounts for the upgrade. This hotel is all show and no substance - they have spent so much time on the form they forget function - so dark you can hardly see in the corridors and in the foyer - no lounge area to sit apart from a cold bar area they open at 3 pm. Definitely not a 4 star hotel - more a hostel vibe- so if you want some nice rest and relaxation after a hectic cultural day in Kyoto - I would stay elsewhere…

Our family enjoyed the hotel very much. We would come again on another trip. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. The front desk called and make restaurant reservations for us. Overall a great stay.

Very stylish, design hotel, dark interior are very special. However, the room design, while stylish, is slightly unpractical, with limited lights and no option to open the window. Very helpful staff, comfy, Japanese style beds and all in all a good hotel experience

We loved our stay here. Excellent area, close to the main station (about 10 mins walk) and the #50 bus stops right in front of the hotel! Excellent base for our five days in Kyoto. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful breakfast (tried and enjoyed both the traditional & Western). Did not try the baths, but they looked beautiful. The hotel bar was pleasant and we ended a couple nights there. Would strongly recommend this hotel.

The care that the staff takes of the guests and the hotel is exlempary. We have not stayed in a more meticulous hotal before. The breakfast is presented beautifully in typical Japanese fashion. It is a 10 minute walk to Kyoto station and Bus 50 stops just outside the hotel. I would definitely rate this as one of the best hotels to stay.

I love how the bus stop is front of the hotel and the Kyoto station near by. The room was so clean/amazing with the light adjustments and modern Japanese styled room. I liked how it came with amenities (body lotion, shower cap, hair brush, Q tips, hair dryer, robes). We skipped room clean and I appreciated how they put new towels+water bottles+robe outside the door in a bag. Friendly staff with luggage hold. Also a bar attached next to the hotel!

What a hidden gem in Kyoto. Loved this hotel and the bar attached to it. Only complaint my friends and I had was the cleaning only refreshed the towels and emptied the trash, didn’t seem to sweep or vacuum the floor. Also, more for awareness, these rooms are very small. As a single person this wasn’t an issue for me but my friends are a couple and were very cramped; worth it to pay extra for a room upgrade for the space alone.

The location was much farther out than it was indicated, which made things difficult to catch a taxi and I had to walk all the way to the main road. The room was much smaller than it was in the photos and not very comfortable to stay in. There were no separate amenities provided, and overall, the stay was not satisfactory and didn't meet the expectations for the price. However, the female staff members were very attentive and helpful. The male staff on the other hand, weren't very accommodating nor did they provide sufficient service or information.
