A fantastic place to stay in a very cool neighborhood. Close to the Gyoen National Garden too which we enjoyed. Close to some great food options as well, try the Waygu Samurai a few minutes away for an awesome culinary experience! The house manual was very helpful since the appliances were very foreign to us and we would have struggled trying to use them without help. The staff spoke English and we were able to converse easily even with my limited Japanese skills . My only slight complaint was the bed, I know it's a matter of personal taste but the bed went past firm straight to hard. It was very effective to make sure I got up early to sightsee though. Maybe have a slip on mattress cover available for those of us that would like a softer bed? I want to stress though that I will still be back and I am very happy with our stay and it wasnt a huge problem though.

We stayed in a two bedroom unit as a family after reading so many (surprising) positive reviews. We found the location lacking. Nothing decent was nearby and had to walk 20 minutes to most anything. The unit looked very nice when we first arrived and more spacious than most Japan rentals. However, it was deceiving. The shower was absolutely terrible, the laundry meant that you hung the wet wash in the laundry room and turned on the heater?! All the items felt cheap, the most thing towel and toilet paper I had come across. And you can literally hear everything. Every footstep it felt like. It was kind of a nightmare. We left early.

Quiet Kyoto Neighbourhood Gem

Four Sisters is a very well-run apartment hotel located in a quiet Kyoto neighbourhood. There are lots of good quality bars restaurants, cafes bakeries combinis supermarkets etc all within a five-minute walk. It's only a short walk to public transport which means the amazing sights of Kyoto are readily accessible. We stayed a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor that was very clean and spacious and well appointed. My family of two adults and two kids really enjoyed our five-night stay at Four Sisters and would love to stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at Kyoto Four Sisters Residence. The apartment was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including a washing machine and kitchen. The location was excellent—quiet yet within walking distance to Nijo Castle, convenience stores, and restaurants. The staff were kind and responsive, making check-in smooth and easy. We felt very comfortable and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay at Kyoto four sisters recently. We managed to get around to all the tourist spots easily via train and bus from the hotel. The hotel staff were super friendly and the place was exceptionally clean. Highly recommend.

Kyoto Four Sisters Residence was a wonderful place to stay for our visit to Kyoto. Conveniently located and easy pick up/drop off spot for Go-Taxi. There are many wonderful places to eat close by and it was not on the main street which was great. The sweet bakery next door was perfect for breakfast grab-n-go, especially for our little children. Check in and out was so easy. Communication with staff as well as email was quick and efficient. The room fit our party of 6 very comfortably and felt like home away from home. I highly recommend staying here. We will certainly be staying here again on our next visit to Japan.

The staff were very welcoming and explained a lot of what we needed to know from the start. We loved the no shoes policy! The room was spacious and having three rings to cook on was brilliant. Inside the room was a booklet with lots of information about the residence and things to do locally. There was an option to have an upper body massage by a local therapist, which was very relaxing. We would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed our 3-night stay at Four Sisters Residence. Our apartment was spacious and tidy. We especially liked that the bathroom had a large sink and has a great drying system that can dry clothes overnight after wash. The toilet design was good for the environment and was clean. We also like the kitchen that we can cook our own meals. The location of the apartment is also great that it was close to the supermarket, train station, and bus stops. We loved our stay and will definitely recommend to others.

Super clean and the front desk can speak English well. The place is big and beautiful, for a group of 4, you have plenty of space. It feels like you’re at home. It has a kitchen, dining and living room. I highly recommend this place.
