Clean room, nice staff, activity options were good, beautiful surrounds. Disappointed that all pools were quite cold and that lots of kids activities were closed for the week (the giant slide, the train, carousel and horse riding).

Interactions with staff were heartening due to their sincerity and clear commitment to do a job well. My room was all I could have hoped for, clean, quiet and most importantly for me, secure...a mini bar would have been nice..meh ;-) We went during an unseasonal wet but driving up we agreed there was enough on offer that it would not be an issue. There are cosmetic maintenance issues but really...I didn't care, I really enjoyed my stay.

The room was satisfactory except that at least one of the doors to the adjacent rooms was not secured and the guest from next door entered our room. A very friendly staff member attended but did not have the "special key" and could not lock it. We had to secure it with a wooden wedge. The hotel is great for children but noisy and not good for a quiet or romantic getaway. Saying that the childrens train ride and carousel was not operative and the adults bar was closed on Saturday evening with the only alternative a lively pizza parlour. The car parking is not suitable for older people as many of the car parking spaces are on one of the 4 lower levels with about 80 steps and up to 100 metres walk. A great hotel if you have kids, but that's about it.

I stayed in a Deluxe Room with Spa at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains, expecting the high standards Fairmont is known for worldwide. Having stayed at multiple Fairmont properties in Dubai, this experience was shocking and disappointing. Teaspoons were dirty with dried food particles. Sink clogged after use. Dust on bed and headboard. Carpet ripped near bedside. Wardrobe and cabinets were visibly unclean. Overall, the room felt unhygienic and poorly maintained. For a luxury hotel charging premium rates, this is unacceptable. I have photos to prove these issues. Fairmont needs to take urgent action to ensure guests don’t experience this.

The property is in need of repairs and maintenance. The exterior of the buildings need painting and some repairs. There were quite a few leaks in various places around the building from rainwater entering the roof spaces. There was a dangerously loose glass shower screen in the shower/ bath which was also very awkward to get in and out of and was very narrow. We have stayed here a few times over the last five years and unfortunately each time it has gotten a bit worse. There are more activities for kids and the ice skating rink looks great.

There were scratching noises in wall & ceiling - perhaps possum or rats. Bathroom had no fan and shower too small and bath slippery. Dirty kettle and pigeon droppings outside window. Restaurants lacking supplies and screaming children heard through walls and in hallways. Needs separate area for adults only bar and restaurant.

Unfortunately, our stay didn’t meet our expectations this time. Overall, the hotel gave an impression of prioritising additional revenue over guest comfort. Many activities come with extra charges, creating a constant feeling of being upsold. Our stay ended up with a very uncomfortable situation. Despite booking through Expedia with all children declared (ages 4, 11, and 14), we were told at breakfast that one of our children was not entitled to breakfast and that we had failed to provide thr age. This was particularly distressing, as Expedia requires children’s ages during booking and considers children up to 17 years old (but Fairmont consider 12+ as adults). However, none of the booking confirmations or receipts mention my children’s ages, and it appears this information is not passed on to the hotel. Being questioned and effectively blamed in front of my child, and made to feel as though I had done something wrong, was embarrassing and upsetting. After stressful discussions, the issue was eventually resolved and breakfast was provided complimentary, but the experience itself left a very negative impression.
