The hotel overall is very dated. Corridors are dark and unwelcoming. The room again was very dated and not in the best state of repair (light stained, old curtains, broken bathroom panels, only 1 socket, no air con, shower took 10 minutes to come hot and the shower curtain sticks to you).
The evening meal did not reflected the price. £26 for lamb shoulder which had a small amount of lamb, with a few overcooked parsnips, a dollop of mash with a couple chopped chives mixed in, and a couple mangetout chopped and sprinkled on top. Attempting to be overly cheffy but missing the mark.
On the plus side the staff were friendly, the bed was comfy and the hotel is in a great location.
