Beds were comfortable and nice bathroom. I loved the design of the room with the 2 levels. Loved the huge windows and patio doors to let the light and fresh air in. The patio itself could’ve been a little more warm and inviting. It was a shared patio area with room next door. That room was unoccupied and was being worked on. The room being worked on had the curtains wide open with the lights on, carpets pulled up and a fan blowing. It kind of spoiled sitting on the patio outside of our room since you could see inside the room being worked on (even though no worker was in there) which made it kind of creepy.

While there was a mistake in the reservation, the staff and management were very accommodating and worked hard to find a solution and fix the issue! I would most definitely recommend staying at the Hotel Dena Pasadena.

Our Junior Suite was very disappointing for the price we paid. There were damp stains on the walls and ceiling. Wall Paper was peeling at the joins. The windows were in a terrible state, dirty and broken in places. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't seem to be working so the room would fill with steam when we showered and the windows would be dripping in condensation. We complained about this and were told that someone would look at it. I'm not sure if anyone actually did actually look at it but it was still not working for the remainder of our stay. We were also disappointed by the in-room hot drink selection as we were gifted only one single tea bag between the two of us for each night of our stay. Come on guys!. You can really do better than this. We had a clear choice between the Hotel Dena and the Hilton Pasadena when we booked our stay through Expedia. In the end I decided on the Dena and ended up wishing we had chosen the Hilton instead. All in all a really really disappointing stay. I have booked many trips over the years through Expedia but I fear this will be my last one.

We stayed at Hotel Dena over Christmas and were genuinely impressed from start to finish. Our group included me and my husband, my brother and his wife, plus our nieces and nephew. Since we all live in different parts of Southern California, we wanted a central location where we could actually spend time together. Originally, we looked into renting a house, but the cost was prohibitive. Hotel Dena ended up being the perfect solution—it had all the amenities we wanted (pool, great communal spaces, and an unbeatable location), and it was far more affordable. Renting three rooms here was significantly cheaper than a house share, and honestly, a better experience. Customer service really stood out right away. When our suite wasn’t ready at check-in, the front desk upgraded us for free, which immediately set the tone for the stay. The suite itself was enormous, with a full living room and a huge bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable with luxurious bedding, and the bathroom was spotless, spacious, and well-lit, with excellent water pressure in the shower—details that truly matter. We ate breakfast every morning at Lyric, and they graciously accommodated our large group each day. The service was friendly and efficient, and most importantly, the food was outstanding. Truly some of the best hotel food I’ve ever had. Since it was Christmas, we decided to do our gift exchange at the hotel bar, Agents Only, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. The people were very nice and we have stayed at the Dena before. The room they gave us this time was postage stamp size. Seems like a room that would be saved for late check-ins. So tight. I like the location but too bad they saw Hotels reservation and down graded us. As a Marriott they should be trying to please all customers.
