Very good

Very popular hotel. Good vibe. Good food. Looking a little tired- could do with a refurbishment our room was ‘classed as ‘superior’ but was a little disappointing. Our only view was of the car park 😟

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The hotel was excellent. It had a lovely bar and dinning area and staff were good. thumbs down for the bedroom it was tired and no bigger than a large broom cupboard. I particularly did not like seeing a naked man in the room opposite my window. I would say you would get a better room in one of the cheaper hotel chains.
Mattress is old and uncomfortable , room was like a black hole dark and gloomy. towel rail in particular in the bathroom filthy , general cleanliness not good. Only good thing to say is the food was nice. Lady at breakfast on the first morning was unfriendly and surly. That room should not be sold to anyone else. A refund would be good pr 😀
We've stayed at the Wherry many times.
The bar and restaurant are still great and the staff are still friendly.
The room we stayed in (106) shouldn't really be used for guests. It's poorly laid out and looks very tired, and there is a constant noise from the kitchen below.
It also feels as if the takeover by Red Cat has led to a reduction in staff and some irritating 'economy hotel' measures, such as having to ask for your room to be serviced (which we weren't told when we arrived).
Standards are definitely on the slide over the last couple of years, but we'll definitely stay again.
Nice and clean food good and had option for carvery any night

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
A bit dated compared with other ‘chain hotels’ I have stayed in in the recent past but very convenient for what we needed on this visit.

The Wherry Hotel for one night
The hotel and its facilities are adequate but a bit dated. Food was average but good value for money. Outlook over the Broad is fantastic and makes the venue very special. The last remaining fried egg at breakfast was not cuttable without special tools. On request it was quickly replaced with two new ones which were perfect (don't wait for the request next time)
My husband is disabled so found the superior room was awkward in the bathroom. particularly. However we hadn't told the hotel about this so can't complain. We managed & really enjoyed our stay. We were a little disappointed in the size of the room & had thought upgrading to a superior room would have given us more space. If we go again I won't bother to upgrade as not worth the extra expense altho' the views were lovely..
