Friendly and relaxing

Very friendly and relaxing. Lucca is a beautiful city to visit and Casa Biancalana is a great base from which to visit. Very relaxing to sit by the pool after a day site seeing.

Pleasant hotel

Pleasant stay much soured when owner demanded an extra 200-odd euros on check out with the explanation that she doesn't make enough on Expedia rooms to cover her costs. We held our ground and refused to pay so ended ok but she was disgruntled with us. Pool and gardens were gorgeous. Facilities in room basic. We had to ask for more toilet paper a couple of times. No soap. Plug to kettle didn't work in socket where it was positioned and we had to balance it on chair outside toilet. Bed hard. Room though was very beautiful

sjarmerende bed & breakfast hotell, bygget opp fra deler av en gammel kirke fra 1600-tallet. Hyggelig dame som driver det. Minus var at det var veldig kaldt om natten, og ikke noe varme i leiligheten vi kunne skru opp. Badet trenger en oppjustering.

tutto bene sauf situation et bruit INSUPPORTABLES

trĂšs bel hĂŽtel meublĂ© Ă  l'ancienne, mais personne a notre arrivĂ©e devant une grande porte fermĂ©e sur une rue glauque de la banlieue de Lucca, panneau indiquant le n° de telephone (nous n'avions pas de tĂ©lĂ©phone) et disant de taper avec le heurtoir...nous avons tapĂ©,et au bout de plus de 5 minutes, avons Ă©tĂ© entendus ... mauvais dĂ©but . a l’intĂ©rieur, : AĂŻe ! l’appartement pour 3 rĂ©servĂ© est occupĂ©, on attend "des amĂ©ricains"; on nous donne Ă  la place 2 belles chambres, mais non climatisĂ©es (chaud en aout) et surtout l'une donne sur la piscine (cris des enfants) et l'autre directement sur la rue, qui est extrĂȘmement bruyante (camions de ferraille dĂ©boulant "a l'italienne", c'est a dire a toute vitesse sur les ralentisseurs !!!, mobylettes..) ; pratiquement pas de trottoir, les camions passent Ă  1 mĂštre des fenĂȘtres, font tout trembler dans la piĂšce, et fenĂȘtres anciennes,simples.. rĂ©sultat : IMPOSSIBLE de se reposer dans la chambre pendant la journĂ©e, et rĂ©veil en sursaut au premier camion le matin vers 6 heures et quelques, puis impossible bien sĂ»r de refermer l'oeil ... Dommage +++ car les patrons sont adorables, disponibles, et un petit dĂ©jeuner (d’ailleurs excellent, gĂąteaux faits maison) nous a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs gentiment offert a notre dĂ©part... le sentiment au retour est donc mitigĂ© ! la gentillesse des hĂŽtes est trĂšs italienne, = sourire omniprĂ©sent... mais ces 4 jours ont nonobstant Ă©tĂ© bel et bien gĂąchĂ©s par le bruit omniprĂ©sent, vraiment rĂ©dhibitoire... que peccato !!!!
