1) Decor - quality, tasteful and considered down to the very minutest detail. From wallpaper to lamps and blackout curtains. Beautiful double glazed sash windows. 2) Comfort. Everything felt crisp, clean, warm and friendly 3) Hospitality - Great place run by real people, and unique characters. Attentive, witty, generous. It’s a tight ship and a lot of fun. 4) Lovely atmosphere in the bar where we had a delicious dinner.

Great night

Arrived at 4 on a Saturday and although we had been warned about the car park being small, there were spaces available. Reception was polite, quick and efficient, including a reservation for an evening meal. The room was large (room 5) and clean with a newly refitted bathroom, comfortable beds and blackout blinds. It was also quiet, despite being situated in the town centre just a short walk from theatres and a beautiful park. Breakfast was cooked to order with a large choice. Also veggie friendly. Will definitely be back.

Really good location for anything you want to do in Great Malvern. The staff couldn't do enough for you with first class quality food for dinner and that extra personal touch at breakfast.

10/10 excellent very friendly staff loved the hotel dog ❤️great location and free parking which was a bonus. The cleanliness second to none spoitless, lovely little touches in the room bottle of water sweets chocolates and biscuits. Breakfast was lovely tasty and hot. Will definitely book again.

What a great place to stay

Staying only one night enroute to a funeral the Great Malvern was absolutely perfect. We luckily secured a slot in the small car park (other car parks not far away). Walking in the door on a cold evening we were met with an immediate warmth both in terms of temperature and welcome at reception. The hotel is an old building but has been modernised while maintaining the character and a number of small touches add to making it such an iconic place to stay. Lots of posters from the local theatre and artefacts and pictures from the Morgan factory too, but without spoiling the coaching inn ambience. Our room was extremely comfortable with lots of up to date features, the attention to detail by the hosts with fresh water in a glass bottle and even a small chocolate on the bed! Everything just made us as guests feel special. We spent the evening in the bar which was so comfortable and had a full array of drinks. Breakfast was a theatrical experience never to be forgotten. Served on the day by our host who greeted us by our names which made an impression straight away. The cooked breakfast is made to order with locally sourced produce and the quality was excellent. The hotel is used by actors performing in the theatre so don’t be surprised to have a famous face sitting at the next table. I know we were. All in all the Great Malvern is a fabulous place to stay we were disappointed only to be staying the one night. We will certainly be booking again.

Anniversary night away

We had a great night away here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff were all very helpful making us feel weclomed and suggesting walking routes up to the Malvern beacon. Our room was clean and well supplied (loved the small chocolates and hot chocolate sachets). The restaurant area had a great atmosphere and we were very cosy next to the fireplace. The food was excellent both for our evening meal and our breakfast. We would happily stay there again.

Great customer service, right from the young lady at checkin to later at the bar all the way to breakfast the next morning. Breakfast had a great range and everything was cooked to order.

A great short break in a great little country town

A short break post christmas at this hotel was a very enjoyabe experience - mainly due to both competent and welcoming staff. The room was excellent (and excellent value compared to others in the area) the breakfast was good with a really wide choice and the bar was a great retreat from the town's Saturday 'busyness'. With easy acess to the Malvern Hills the next mroning the hotel was an ideal venue for, short mid-winter break
