A beautiful hotel with a luxurious feel and excellent location however.....Bathroom needs updating....toilet seat was very loose and muslim shower hose not on right hand side of toilet and outdated hairdryer and no iron in the room. Breakfast was almost the same everyday with mainly vegetarian food and disappointing variety.Duty manager was not polite and she ignored me. I left a message and was told someone will call back but no one followed up. Poor customer care. House keeping staff very hardworking.

The property is ageing now however clean. Location wise you cannot get better than this. Stayed 3 nights however only had the breakfast the once and it was amazing. Value for money and would recommend. Lifts can be a bit slow at prayer times.

We had booked a room for 4 people and only got 3 beds. Asked for another bed and reception said they don't provide additional beds.. We arrived after a 16 hour travel and just wanted to rest. The room wasn't prepared properly either They would only give 3 items rather than 4, ie complimentary items. Had to ask for more which was embarrassing. Seemed like the room was only prepared for 3 people. The best thing was the multiple exits towards Haram. Would advise to check the room beforehand. It was only the day before leaving they rang to ask how the stay was and what time we would be checking out that they got their act together and bought an extra bed into the room.

I have not rated the stay at Makkah Hotel Excellent just because of number of lifts in service. There are 30 floors and only 2 working lifts to take you to your room. Sometime had to wait more than 15 min to get into lift as it was always busy. Apart from that, in terms of location couldn’t have been any better as hotel is in boundary of Kaaba. Rooms though were old but clean and service was also good.

Hotel needs urgent refurbishment. Most of the time 2 to 3 lifts remained under maintenance causing long wait to commute. House keeping is poor with slow response. Only positive point is hotel vicinity to Haram. Management must invest in the property to keep it attractive.
