Room was clean, comfy beds. Had a microwave and a neat drawer with plates, cutlery, a tea towel even washing up liquid and a corkscrew. Restaurant is not great, it serves a basic menu. Luckily you can exit the hotel via the ground floor, turn left and walk down the steps and you start to see the first of many eateries on the way into the centre. We were on the 12th floor. The room was toastie and no air con, opened the window but that’s only good if it isn’t blowing a gale.

My only complaint with this hotel was the incconvenient entrance - right in the middle of a high rise carpark. You actually have to walk inside the carpark building to find the entrance. I arrived on foot and walked right past the entrance because every other hotel I have ever stayed at had an entrance on the street and was clearly sign-posted as such. Apart from that, everything very good - a clean and quiet room, a good cafe for breakfast, just a minute's walk from the lower entrance to Lambton Quay.

Staff on arrival were not bothered - we had made a request three times and the hotel reservations team never responded. When I questioned this at reception I was told that’s reservations they don’t work here (as though im suppose to know that). We had booked a king room and was given two single rooms. Room was basic. Nothing special with simple amenities. You can’t control the aircon it just remains at one temperature the whole time. Hotel rewards said we were suppose to get a bottle of wine with the stay. That never eventuated or offered (false promises). Overall a real disappointment with hotels.com promise and the Travelodge. Very basic and poor service.

Fantastic location. Close to TSB Arena and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Clean room. The check-in staff member was not that engaging or warm even though we tried to chat with her. The check-out staff member was very friendly and engaging.

We had requested 3 single beds (twice ) but on arrival found we’d been allocated one double and one sofa bed. Had to be moved to another room. 3 beds made up but only 2 chairs. Phone not working. And no information regarding internet password. Helpful staff who addressed our issues.
