Welcoming staff excellent food especially breakfast , nice room but terrible smell coming from the shower and a little bit noisy because too close from DN 7
Overall a pleasant stay at the hotel. Well maintained property and a helpful staff. The air conditioning was out during our stay, but they had a fan in the room which worked out fine and the staff made other agreeable arrangements for us to make up for it. No mini fridge in the room which was a downside. There was also no vegetarian main dish at the restaurant (fish doesn't count as vegetarian!) and would not necessarily recommend eating there if you can avoid it. The pool and the lounge areas around it are definitely the highlight of the hotel!
Very nice hotel in rural area.very clean nice and freindly staff we enjoyed the breakfast and we recommend the hotel very highly.it is about 15 minutes drive from aix en provence in a quiet beautiful area.
Nice quite hotel friendly staff ,great size room, little out of town but easy to get around with car.

Disappointing
It's fairly remote and was very quiet. The bar person was not particularly friendly when I asked for a cup of ice. We sat down in the restaurant but the 2 staff were very uninterested and it was also deserted apart from one other couple, we decided to try elsewhere and left.
The receptionist was very nice, helpful and welcoming
The room was fine, it had a nice outdoor patio area which, unfortunately is "home" to some 5/6 stray cats.
We were not pre-warned of building work going on in the car park and were woken by the noise of heavy equipment in use, not ideal after a very long drive the day before
The 13th century exterior of the hotel is charming, but the interior was modern and the rooms were just rooms - nice bathrooms, but nothing special. We had one very small window which opened onto the highway. I can not understand the four star rating of this hotel as it was no nicer than the one and two stars we stayed in on this trip. The location is quite a ways outside of Aix, surrounded by vineyards with horses in the distance. It is pretty, but there was nothing close to the hotel. We had to search for someplace for dinner as the hotel's dining room seemed too formal and expensive. Skip the hotel's very overpriced breakfast and drive towards Aix to the Paiou bakery for great pain au chocolat and coffee! The garden store next door was interesting too with giant rabbits.
The hotel was beautifully decorated and furnished. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant and were pleased to have been upgraded to a superior room. The down side was the road noise, which admittedly quieten down during the night and noise in the corridor from other residents. Otherwise a very pleasant experience.
Located in a quiet spot outside of Aix, below a towering escarpment. Sympathetically converted fro an old Mas, reatinin the old courtyard. The rooms were large and airy, well ventilated with refreshingly quiet air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely swimming pool. The only fly in the ointment ws breakfast: they ran out of croissants ( in France!!) You were always waiting for glasses and plates and even milk.Internet access was good.
This was a great hotel. Relaxing and comfortable. The staff were great. We would certainly stay here again. A bit far from Aix, but that's also one its appeals. The main drawback is that it is on a road, so there is some road noise at night.
This hotel is a modern upgrade of an old farmhouse. The room was clean and contemporary and the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English pretty well. It is about 8 miles outside of Aix-en-Provence, and about 2 miles from the highway entrance. The breakfast, which wasn't included in our hotel cost, and was almost 16 Euros, was not a good value for that much money. There were the usual croissants, bread, some cheese and cold meats, but the food that was supposed to be warm (eggs and pancakes) were cold and dry. It's a good hotel if you want the feeling of being in the countryside.
Beautiful hotel with a pool and close proximity to Mt St Victoire, which was main draw. Located a good 15 minutes outside of the main city of Aix En Provence - easy to travel from hotel to Aix, but very confusing to travel from Aix to hotel.
Nice staff, comfortable bed, but no door to bathroom! There's only just so much you want to share with your spouse... Could use more hangers in closets - only 4 hangers/person.
Great hotel for business retreat. Would recommend something in Aix (vs outside) for those traveling on vacation.

OK but with some reservations
This hotel is about 15 mins by car outside Aix au Provence. We had a room with a small garden. The room was small but functional. The bathroom with its 'rain' shower was nice. The decor was very simple (plain white walls etc) as was the furniture. The closet and drawers just about held our clothing for the three nights stay. It is easy to get into and out of Aix from this hotel and there is great hiking nearby. Unfortunately the main pool was green with dirt when we were there so could not swim. The hotel breakfast room is charming and the breakfast selection good. They also have a terrace restaurant where food was only OK. The road which runs at the back of the hotel can be noisy so try and get a room away from the road.
The hotel is located 10-15 min East of Aix en Provence, in a very quiet area. For those who want to relax away from the busy city, this hotel is perfect. We chose it for a 2 day discovery trip in Provence, and enjoyed the convenient location 10 min drive from the highway. We loved the clean and modern facilities including free wifi, flat screen TV, and great lighting. We had a room on the ground level with French door leading to private little patio (see hotel picture), which was very enjoyable. The bathroom was modern and clean, with pretty big shower (at floor level with large shower head) but no bath tube. The hotel offers bar and restaurant in the front patio that is very relaxing, surrounded by beautiful grounds and fountains. Food was great and service exceptionally good for France. The outside swimming pool was opened 24/7. We had to pay a couple extra bucks a day (not included in the hotels.com price) for city night-stay (séjour) tax. Easy to find: enter "Galinière" in your GPS as street address in Chateauneuf. The arrival was a little confusing because only "Mercure restaurant" is indicated on signs (hotel and restaurant are in same location). Overall: great experience!
Very much liked the wifi included in price and no need to mess with codes etc.
Might have preferred a bath & shower as opposed to just the latter.
Lovely location and outdoor patio to relax/eat in the evening.
