A historic hidden gem in downtown

I loved this hotel! Not the biggest, not the fanciest, but old school style with a very friendly staff and a great restaurant and bar. Plus fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk from 10-11pm! An older property but very clean, hospitable, with refreshed rooms, comfortable bed, and indoor pool.

We stayed for two nights. No complaints. All the staff were great. Patrick was our transportation for a twins game. He was reliable and fun. Food was delicious. I recommend the blueberry pancakes for breakfast and walleye for supper.

This hotel was within walking distance to many things like shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, and the onsite parking was wonderful. The nostalgia of the building was cool and the staff were amazing.

The people staying next to me were up all night partying. My daughter and I couldn’t sleep and called the front desk overnight at least 5 to 6 times. They kept saying that they went over and told him to be quiet but they continue to make noise. Finally at about 5:30 in the morning I left the room and saw the manager. He said if they make any more noise, they’ll get kicked out. They’re gonna leave that day. A lot of good that does my daughter and I who have to sleep during the day with our plans were to go to the mall of America and the fair. For our trouble he gave us two vouchers for breakfast. I said our room night should be paid, but that didn’t happen. We won’t be staying there anymore because the pool is overtaken by family gatherings every time we go and there isn’t enough room in the hot tub nor would I want to go in there anyway with 20 kids and family members. There’s a lot of better hotels downtown and other places.
