I was scheduled to fly out of Barcelona on April 28th to Lisbon, the day the electrical power outage occurred in Portugal. My flight got cancelled and I needed a room for the night, so I hurriedly booked this one online. I was travelling home after being seriously injured on vacation, and was travelling with a bicycle in a case. It's a long walk to the hotel shuttle pickup area, and I was in pain. The shuttle driver refused to accept my bicycle case and would not bring me to the hotel. I had to walk back into the airport in acute pain. An Uber driver took me for 48 euros (the shuttle was free). While checking in I asked the receptionist why I could not bring my bicycle as I have traveled with it extensively, and have never been denied transport. She gave a rude answer, and I replied that their policy was B.S. She blew up, angrily saying she was cancelling my reservation and was going to have me removed from the hotel. I explained that "B.S." was a common word in the USA, I have heard it spoken by Trump, members of his staff and cabinet, even his attorney general, she shouldn't react so strongly to a simple word. She said I owed 1.80 € for tax, I provided a 2 € coin, she gave back a .20 and I put it in my pocket. While I was looking at my phone, she began yelling again, accusing me of having thrown the .20 coin at her and called for security. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the only coin in it, the .20 € coin she just gave me. She didn't apologize.
