14. Smoke Alarms & Fire Safety 🚨
Smoke alarms are essential safety devices and must not be disabled, covered, removed, or tampered with for any reason. This includes removing batteries, covering alarms to prevent activation, or interfering with them in any way.

Any tampering, misuse causing a false alarm, or intentional disabling of a smoke alarm will result in a $500 penalty, plus any additional costs incurred (including building fines, fire department charges, or maintenance repairs). Continued violations may lead to immediate termination of the stay without refund, in line with house rules and platform policies.

If an alarm is triggered accidentally or appears faulty, please contact us right away so we can assist.

the front door was stuck in the door jamb when we arrived to drop our bags off (prior to cleaning) when we finally managed to open the door with the keycode, the room had been completely trashed by the previous guest. there was food in the bed, the stove was left on, it smelled heavily of smoke, the smoke alarm was removed, & there was no way the cleaners would be able to make it habitable within a couple of hours. we did not stay as it was a health & safety matter which was not taken seriously as the refund charges were reversed 4 months later.

Not as Described – Disappointing StayI just returned from Montreal and stayed at this property, and unfortunately my experience did not match the listing’s description. While the apartment is conveniently located downtown and within walking distance to many attractions, that’s where the positives ended.The unit itself is far from “luxury.” The entire apartment is on a noticeable slant, and there was a constant draft coming from under the front door. This didn’t just let in cold air—it also carried the smell of cigarette and weed smoke from people smoking on the front porch.Noise was another major issue. The walls are paper thin, so between the neighboring units, street noise, and late-night crowds leaving nearby bars and restaurants, there was basically no chance of getting a good night’s sleep.To make matters worse, we were told multiple times before booking that parking was included and free. Once we arrived, we learned this was not true. Despite having written confirmation from “Sam” three separate times saying parking was covered, he refused to honor it and blamed the misinformation on a “chat bot error.” There was no attempt to make it right.Overall, the location is great, but the apartment is not accurately represented, and the customer service left a lot to be desired. I would not stay here again.

This is a nice, quaint room for one or two people. The location is excellent, with a variety of places to eat within a couple minute walk and Mt. Royal within walking distance for a getaway from the city atmosphere. All the colorful decorations in the pictures weren't there in-person. Other than that, it was just like the pictures.Communication with Sam was straightforward, except that the person who had the room the previous day was checking out late, and I almost barged right in on them while dropping off my luggage! That could have gone badly.Anyways, for the price I'm happy with my choice. I'd stay here again.
