Most of the food trucks and food shacks were out of food and the chair situation was the worst it has ever been. By 7am there were no chairs. People had one shoe, 1 book, a towel etc “reserving” the chairs by 7am. They wouldn’t even show back up till after 11am and some with just towels down never showed back up. People would put stuff down and leave for the water park for hours and hours. We typically love bahamar and have been repeat visitors but next year will be trying a new spot. No one wants to get up at 5am just to get a place to sit

Great water park included, beautiful jazz club, newly renovated room in the west tower, great maid service for our room, nice beaches and vibe. But overall service at the resort is perfunctory at best and in no way indicative of the five star room rates, but I think that’s also just a Bahamas thing. On site restaurants are hard to book, so plan ahead. Food was hit or miss. Leola and Marcus were great. Sugar Factory and Regatta Buffett were very mediocre but just as expensive.

They charged for things not disclosed during booking or Checkin. Resort itself: 5 stars Restaurant service: 2 stars. It takes for ever. Then service charge is added. It’s mandatory. But why about when service is poor? Check out: They tack on $21/ day for “room service charge, for room cleaning etc”. This is not disclosed to you. Manager told me that I’ll have to fight it with Expedia. I told her Expedia is your travel partner and they should look into it. She said it’s not her job cuz we booked through Expedia. She also mentioned that the hotel doesn’t recommend booking through Expedia. Fact: Expedia is your sales partner. You need to fix it or honor what your partner sold. Or tell us during check in. We will be contacting our attorney. Don’t let this slide. It’s totally fair to charge anything as long as it’s disclosed to you. But to charge for things that were not disclosed is completely wrong.

Overall the resort is one of the best I've been to, in fact this was our third vacation here. Unfortunately it was ruined on the last day by some over-zealous yellow-shirted pool attendants who decided it was time to enforce the 45 minute rule related to time away from your lounge chair. Although it is clearly stated that attendants may remove personal affects from lounge chairs if you are away for more than 45 minutes, never in three years have I ever heard of it being followed-through. In fact I've never seen it happen in 25+ years of resort travel. Yes, we were away from the chairs for about an hour and a half as we went for breakfast and then packed our room up and checked out. Yes, we were gone "a long time" but 45 minutes is absurd. A woman with small kids beside us also had her belongings removed *while she was in the pool* with her kids! The reason the attendant gave me (who was beyond rude) was "It's not fair to other guests...". Seems logical, except that's not how the resort etiquette works - everyone knows if you want a chair you get there early and "claim" it. Forty-five minutes is not enough time to go for lunch at this resort, let alone the water park. Really not sure who they are trying to "make happy" with their policy as all it does is infuriate those who have had their belongings removed. The policy is absurd. Maybe they need to put egg timers beside each chair that begin counting down 45 minutes so we can all play musical lounge chairs. Absurd!
