Things to Do in Nassau

Downtown Nassau is located on the north coast of New Providence Island. You’ll find lots of luxey Nassau accommodation in Cable Beach west of downtown, so drop your bags off at the hotel and start your adventure at the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas. When you encounter the half-human, half-crustacean sculpture in the courtyard, you’ll know this isn’t your typical art museum and the awesome exhibitions won’t let you forget it.

From NAGB, you’ll be a short walk to the Heritage Museum of the Bahamas, so you can top off your local culture fix before exploring the Versailles Gardens and French Cloister on Paradise Island.

Back on New Providence, visit village ruins and sprawl on the sand at Clifton Heritage National Park on the southwest coast. As the sun sets, fill up on conch fritters, the island’s signature peas ‘n’ rice and plenty of fancy-pants cocktails. Pass the rum punch!

Getting to and Around Nassau

Touch down at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), located about 16km southwest of downtown. The downtown area is easy to see on foot, but you’ll want to catch a cab or rent a car to do any beach-hopping.
