We love the Hyatt House in New Orleans!
It's where we stay whenever we have the pleasure of travelling to the city.
The rooms are well kept, great views of the city, great free breakfast, friendly staff, a noce pool area. Zero complaints.
Last time we stayed at Hyatt House they upgraded our room to a suite with an amazing city view - we were so surprised and so grateful.
We went to the pool with our kids pretty much every night, which meant we had to go thru the Regency - the Regency is an incredible hotel and MASSIVE, and our kids loved exploring the Regency and riding their cool elevators :).
There are convenient public transit connections right outside the hotel, including the NORTA bus line that goes straight to the airport, and streetcar connections.
Do not be afraid to use public transit in New Orleans. It is cheap, the vehicles are clean, the app is very convenient - it's a good public transit experience.
The French Quarter is a ppleasant 15-20 minute walk. Walk up Poydras or Lafayette southbound if you want a quieter stroll toward the Quarter.
There are great restaurants everywhere, naturally, as it's New Orleans.
Superdome and Smoothie King Center are a few blocks away.
Rouse's Market is a few blocks away if you want to get some fresh food and take a break from eating out occassionally.
We can't say enough about Hyatt House New Orleans! They have us as loyal repeat customers!
