First, the staff was very helpful, and the rooms were adequate. However, the hotel rooms do show they are dated to an extent. But it is clean and free shuttle to the Airport. Which is very close. I would stay here again for the night before a flight. But for the Marriott resort, I feel that's not this hotel. But don't shy away from it. The staff and room are great for an overnight before a flight. A bistro for dinner in a higher-end Marriott is next door. They do serve a breakfast if your flight is not too early. We left really early, so they offered a pastry or something to go..

We flew into Newark and had been told there was a shuttle service. My family along with at least 3 other groups waited for 30 minutes before we started calling the hotel asking for the shuttle. Each of us were told we “must have just missed it” each time we called and the lady was very rude about it. Multiple other hotels shuttles came and left very efficiently, yet ours was no where to be found. Each time one of us called she tried to tell us we were possibly not at the correct location, even though we were standing beside the sign for our hotel shuttle. After nearly an hour in the cold, our shuttle finally showed up. No apologies. No explanations. When we arrived at the hotel, the lady we had talked to on the phone never looked up at any of us, just insisted she’d been checking in guests from the airport so she knew the shuttle was making the runs. She never apologized for the inconvenience. Absolutely nothing was done about it. We will never stay at that hotel again for that reason. I spend a lot of money on travel. I will not give my money to a hotel that treats their guests so rudely.

The room was absolutely filthy - hair in the shower, large blood stain on the mattress, dust caked in sticky residue on the bedside lamp, etc. I let the front desk staff know and asked to be moved to a new room, but there were no other rooms available. I decided it was not safe for me to stay at the hotel and booked another hotel closely. When leaving, the front desk staff encouraged me to call Hotels.com to start the refund process, but ultimately the manager at this hotel DENIED the request.

When I first got into the room, I was pretty upset because the beds were horrible. The sheets were wrinkled. The pillowcases were wrinkled and dirty and a blanket. It was just not a maid bed. It was like a four-year-old had made it up so I was upset I took a video I took it downstairs. I showed them they called whoever they called. I came upstairs and I asked them to fix the bed and they were hesitant and said that everything was clean doesn't look clean and I didn't wanna have a discussion. I just wanted the bed done so I gave them a $20 bill and I got new clean sheets new new pillows everything was done properly, but it was my birthday and I didn't want to stress. I was already stressed out, but it was resolved, but I had to make it happen so that I didn't really like that but it was OK. Everything else is perfect. The breakfast was delicious and I like how they leave ice tea out for you and ice water. It was a nice suite I really like the sweet, but I like the layout of the suite.

Make sure the shuttle at airport specifies which Marriott hotel it is picking up. We stood at 16 and shuttle guy walked over and said “Marriott?” We said yes. But he took us to the wrong Marriott. So we had to wake the shuttle back and wait for right shuttle which was smaller and smellier. Lol
