Staff was great! No amenities. The room was clean but older and in need of some repair. Just wasnt for us... would like a place with a lobby and a pool for less than ideal beach days

A must stay!

This has been our 3rd summer stay at Ocean 1 and this was also probably our best! In prior years, our room had 2 beds and a small circular table w/ 2 chairs. This year our room had the 2 beds, a cushioned bench, 2 wingback chairs and a large desk w/ rolling chair. We enjoyed having seating options other than just our beds, and overall those items made the room feel much more comfortable than in years past. The hotel staff are all so kind, helpful and just enjoyable to talk to (and this has been consistent throughout the years we have stayed here). The only "complaint" I have is the the cleanliness of the bathroom. The drain stopper, which did not sit properly in the drain, had mildew all over it and when we lifted the faucet to turn on the water, we could see where the neck of the faucet had not been cleaned. Dirty bathrooms give me major ick, but everything else was so great that I can't put the rating too low ;) We will be back, for sure!

Great location, terrible management

Let's see... There were no blankets in our room. We had sheets and a duvet. We checked in super late and the TV didn't work. Called the front desk and the worker came up and couldn't get it to work. So he literally just gives up and says "the best I can do is leave a note for my manager"-- the manager never followed up with us. I ended up fixing the TV myself. Then we had to ask for blankets the next morning. The balcony doors are not sound proof AT ALL. So unless you are an early riser, like 430-5am do not book, you will not have a good sleep. The garbage trucks come very early morning and the dumpster being picked up sounds like a bomb going off and the reverse beeping goes on for 15 minutes.

Parking wasn’t the greatest as it took second day to finally have them put the extra flow parking in our gps cause we couldn’t find it,at hotel it’s only maybe 15 spots to park,when we walked in our room smelt weird like mildew stinky wet mop but there was still so much sand and stuff on floor like wasn’t swept even the bathroom floor so that’s was weird to smell that and we smelt throw up smell on our 4th floor few times,but our neighbors smoking weed anytime our door was open on deck few times we smelt it bad even with door shut and coming back from wherever we where our room did,staff was all very nice and soon asked for towels we got within a reasonable time too

Staff were friendly, the location is great, and the towels were really soft. The handicap queen room is spacious but the couch is older and looks kind of dingy. The balconies overlooking the beach and boardwalk are nice.

The pros of this property are, Front desk staff, specially Brittney and the location. The cons, no housekeeping at all during your stay, we were unaware we had to request towels, and toliet tissue. Floors seem dirty upon arrival and room reaked of cigarettes. I spoke with front desk all they could do was spray an air freshener, no thanks we kept the door open for air. On the small patio with only 2 chairs(we booked a room suited for 4 people) was an under bed storage container to collect to overflow of water coming from the air conditioner unit. It overflowed and flooded the patio each day of stay. Maintenence came once to deal with it and we emptied it ourselves the remaining days. Zero wifi, had to use hot spots, no cable whatsoever so on the rainy day we again used hotspot for a bit of streaming. Somehow the water had a mildew smell coming right from the faucet. Tub was not cleaned prior, maybe wiped, a few hairs stuck to walls, mildew around the drain stopper, last guests razor cover and hair tie remained on the ledge. Screen door lock was broken, outside access doors did not close properly so they open almost 24 hours a day. Room door itself had to be pulled closed. Room keys worked when they wanted to. Wallpaper peeling off walls, patches in some places of a similar but not same wallpaper. Looked like a recent leak in one corner. No comforters on beds. Just a duvet with no cover and all the snaps hanging off, sheets seemed clean. More to list but I am out characters.

Had a really good experience Aug 2025. Front deck staff were great. Room was big ,clean and price was unbeatable. Location on boardwalk and 1st St was perfect if you want in the fray of things. I did miss having a pool, but not a deal breaker being on the beach. Will stay again!!!
