Compare Cheap Hotels in Papeete

We booked a quick stop just to shower and cool off in the air conditioning between our ferry ride from Mo’orea and our red eye flight out of Tahiti. Thank goodness we didn’t have to stay the night! First off, Expedia mentioned that there was a free shuttle to the airport but when we got there the lady said there was no such thing and we would need to call a cab. We wouldn’t have booked at this hotel if there was no shuttle (misleading information by either Expedia or the hotel). We were hot and sticky and just wanted to get to our room so did not observe the lobby closely upon arrival. However, when we left we stood in the lobby and observed while waiting for our cab. Every lounger/couch cushion was worn to the point where the leather was separating. So we did not want to sit. While standing and waiting for our taxi, we looked up to see that the ceiling tiles were missing all over. Part of the ceiling was peeling down. You could see that at one time this hotel may have been nice. The room was not much better. There was an empty soap/shampoo container left in the corner of the shower stall and the tiles had not looked like they were cleaned for a very long time (grime in all four corners). The towels were yellow with stains/spots so we did not feel very clean. This place needs a re-do!! Obviously I was concerned by the ratings but we thought it would be okay to at least take a shower and cool off. I didn’t even want to sit on the bed.

We checked in at 5 am, but didn't need to check into our room. We just needed our bags held, which they did, and filled up our water bottles for us before going on an all day excursion. The room was comfortable, there's ice and laundry available, and it's close to everything. We chose this location because we were catching a ferry the next morning to bora bora and will be using them upon return for a ferry to moorea. Very nice and comfortable.

These were not cabins they were extremely small rooms with shared bathrooms. Felt like staying in a hostel. The hotel was very gray, nothing bright or welcoming like you might expect in Tahiti. The staff was very nice and helpful. But read carefully before you book.

We had our dinner on the rooftop restaurant. I had the raw beef and it was delicious. Female saxophone player for a while. Breakfast was good. My only real complaint was that our shower was totally out of shampoo and body wash. The first floor waiting area is beautiful and comfortable for waiting in after checking out. Shower available before taxi to airport.

They had the best complimentary Baguettes and butter and jam for breakfast. Air-conditioned rooms and helpful staff.
