We booked a quick stop just to shower and cool off in the air conditioning between our ferry ride from Mo’orea and our red eye flight out of Tahiti. Thank goodness we didn’t have to stay the night!
First off, Expedia mentioned that there was a free shuttle to the airport but when we got there the lady said there was no such thing and we would need to call a cab. We wouldn’t have booked at this hotel if there was no shuttle (misleading information by either Expedia or the hotel).
We were hot and sticky and just wanted to get to our room so did not observe the lobby closely upon arrival. However, when we left we stood in the lobby and observed while waiting for our cab. Every lounger/couch cushion was worn to the point where the leather was separating. So we did not want to sit. While standing and waiting for our taxi, we looked up to see that the ceiling tiles were missing all over. Part of the ceiling was peeling down. You could see that at one time this hotel may have been nice.
The room was not much better. There was an empty soap/shampoo container left in the corner of the shower stall and the tiles had not looked like they were cleaned for a very long time (grime in all four corners). The towels were yellow with stains/spots so we did not feel very clean. This place needs a re-do!! Obviously I was concerned by the ratings but we thought it would be okay to at least take a shower and cool off. I didn’t even want to sit on the bed.
