We had a lovely weekend, our room was very clean and comfortable.Pascal was very friendly and informative. The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked with Pascal's homemade sourdough bread. We would definitely stay again,
Pascal greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome from the first point of contact. The drink, canapé and cookies were much appreciated after a long journey. Breakfast was fantastic and prepared beautifully using quality ingredients and the room was very comfortable. Several dining options are within walking distance to suit all budgets and the car park behind the property is very convenient . Pascal was full of local knowledge and tips and we would certainly stay here again if in the area .
A little apprehension at first as there is no real ‘kerb appeal’ but this masks an excellent guest house and welcome. The glasses of fizz and canapé on arrival help us to settle in.
The cooked to order breakfast is worthy of a 5 star hotel.
Would recommend to those wishing to explore the North Yorkshire Moors.
Fabulous place run by a fabulous family. Breakfast was amazing as was Pasqual's sour dough bread. Is very clean and comfortable with lovely extras like a welcome drink with homemade canapè plus home made cookies in the room. Its a very convenient location with good eateries within walking distance. The hospitality from Pasqual and his family was exceptional. Will definitely stay again.
The owner, Pascal, provides a unique personal experience to your stay in his hotel. Excellent breakfasts are mixed with conversation, advice, and helpfulness for his guests.
Accommodation is decent. We had the one ground floor room which was a reasonable size. The room was clean and room service was provided every third day. The hotel location was very good, being a short walk to the High Street and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. There are 3 parking spaces taken on a first come first served basis. If full, the alternative is to park in the road outside which is very busy.
A wonderful hidden gem B&B. Lovely welcome from Pascal and his personalised breakfasts with his famous sourdough bread are delicious. It’s the special little things that make you feel special, hime made cookies in the room, canapés and bubbles on arrival. Bottled water in the room as well as plenty of beverages and toiletries. Great location for the coast of the lovely market towns and return after a long day to a comfortable bed.
We booked in Cawthorne House on the back of the reviews.
And we were not disappointed
Pascal is definitely the host with the most!
A complimentary glass of fizz and canapes on arrival was a lovely touch. Especially after the long drive up.
We had a walk into town for our evening meal, after reading some of the recommendations.. it's a nice easy walk with plenty of establishments to choose from.
Breakfast was pre order and was absolutely delicious, we tried two different options on both days, the avocado on homemade sour dough was outstanding..
A lovely 2 day break.. icing on the cake was a ride on the Sir Nigel Gresley train..
What an incredible stay we had. A beautiful room and the most delicious of breakfasts. We were so spoilt having homemade sourdough bread each morning. We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Pascal is the most amazing host, so friendly and engaging. We would recommend this to all. 5 stars do not seem enough to rate this!
Amazing B&B that would put most 4/5 star hotels to shame. Lovely service from Pascal from start to finish. Amazing breakfast, lovely room with absolutely no bad points at all from this 2 day stay. Pascal is a world of knowledge about where to eat, my go to place in north yorkshire. We look forward tto staying there again.
Pascal was a fabulous host who made us feel utterly at home. Breakfasts were excellent and Cawthorne House is just a 5-minute walk from the centre of Pickering which was perfect for exploring the town and for our evening meals. We will certainly stay again.
Pascal was the most friendly and welcoming of hosts. Fizz and a canapé and delicious breakfast, especially his homemade sourdough of which he is deservedly proud.
Our room was spacious and the shower was excellent. Dare I say that the room would benefit from a refresh? A little tlc would elevate it to Boutique standard.
Very Good location, owner Pascal, helpful and pleasant. Breakfasts very good. Plenty of places of interest close by, including steam railway. All in All, a very good place to stay.
Terrific place to stay and explore North Yorkshire. Host Pascal really helpful and baked a great sourdough loaf along with a super breakfast. Lots of nice touches with canape and glass of fizz on arrival. Would recommend highly!
Fantastic Host and Owner Pascal - everything Great, and more …. !!
So Welcoming, Excellent Room, Superb Breakfast Choice, and Quality too.
Highly Recommended. 10/10.
