I loved the room and the spaciousness. Liked the valet parking in front it made parking easy for us. The two parts that made this three stars was the fire a alarm that went off at 11pm one night that only evacuated one floor. There was no communication from staff and it was very non chalant “okay you can go back to your rooms”. Second was the breakfast chef at the omelette station. Was rude about making scrambled eggs even though he did it for a customer right in front of me, tried to deter me by saying “there’s some in the middle!” To which I had to then tell him I wanted them from this made to order line. It was for my little sister which is why I was not just going to leave. I liked the property just the hospitality was a little off.

We stayed here for two nights. The interior of the hotel is clean and presentable, and the rooms were fairly comfortable. Breakfast was actually a highlight — they had omelets made to order, which was a nice touch. However, several issues made our stay less than ideal. The mattress in our room was lumpy and sagged noticeably, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The hotel is also located in a rough part of town, with many transients in the area. At one point, we encountered a completely naked individual screaming outside — definitely not something you want your kids exposed to. Another downside is that there’s no free parking, and we had a very negative interaction with a valet worker. When we pulled up to the 15-minute loading zone, he rudely told us we couldn’t park there if our party was still upstairs — which completely defeats the purpose of a loading zone. Overall, while the inside of the hotel looks nice and the breakfast was decent, the location, mattress quality, and poor service from staff brought the experience down significantly.

Easy to walk to subway and various points of interest. The pool area could use to be cleaned a bit more often. Breakfast was excellent with the made to order omelet. Glad there is staff outside to greet you, makes one feel more safe. Evening reception was great too.

The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly. The hotel is older and in need of some TLC. The breakfast/evening reception room was overwhelmingly loud. I would have rated the hotel a 3 star, but the staff was actually really great so they get an extra star.

Our interactions with the staff at the Embassy Suites was positive and friendly. Front Desk answered our questions, made great suggestions. The Valet parking team was attentive and even with the Rose Parade on Saturday and blocked hotel streets, they were able to quickly bring out our car. Fun dining hall for breakfast, fast and friendly service with the omelette chefs. And the history of the hotel shows in the lobby, the unusual shaped pool, the wonderfully oversized rooms, mirrors, large bathrooms. It was a very enjoyable stay.

It's been almost 30 years since we were last here and the place is still nice. The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable. A couple of things about the room showed the age; a faucet that was hard to shut off, toilet seat did not sit solidly and liked to twist to the side, the breakfast room/reception room is a bit old and dowdy. And the parking (valet only) is an eye-watering $65 a night for guests, which seems excessive. Otherwise the place is a grand old place to stay, in an area of town which is a bit dodgy with homeless tents on the sidewalks here and there. But it's a comfortable walk to Powells, the Saturday Market, and places to eat.

Location of the hotel is great . Overall it was good but want to point out few . Room carpets were not clean . No normal parking for hotel guest only valet parking and that was also so expensive . Breakfast was ok , but exactly same everyday .

Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
It was so crowded, we couldn't enojoy the pool, the happy hour was weak (you used to have way more snacks) and the breakfast was so busy, long lines and the food was not good. The elevators took forever, and people would push you out of the way to get on and cut in front of you. This used to be a nice, respected establishment. I won't be staying here again.
