We had decided to stay at Hotel Port Royal based on the reviews over a hotel in the same street that we had stayed in last year, and the Port Royal was a little disappointing. First, it was under construction, so the main entrance was closed. Second, they are in the middle of updating rooms, so some are updated, and some aren’t. We originally got a room that was not updated, and also had am extremely weird layout (older building so has some quirky rooms, but was not happy with the layout at all), and the bathroom vanity looked like plank wood and had water damage. Thirdly, weirdly enough, the toiletries were appeared to have been reused from one guest to the next as some were half empty. However, when we brought this to the hotels attention, the manager went above and beyond to remedy the situation and helped relocate us to another room, effectively giving us an option of 4 rooms and letting us pick, and the rooms were all much nicer. So, they staff is great and helped us fixed the issue, and we ended up enjoying the room we had, however, there are hotels on the same street that I have stayed at with more amenities and more consistent rooms at a similar pride point That I would stay at over the Hotel Port Royal.
