Loved Valet and the clean spacious room space. Food was a bit pricier due to being at a resort for Starbucks. But Port A Subs was reasonably priced.

The Grand Sierra Resort is a class act...my favorite hotel in the Reno area, and it was very nice to see some affordable rates allowing me to afford to book a room there for the first time.

My family has stayed at the GSR many of times but it has been many years. We loved staying there when the kids were younger because it was convenient having so many activities for them. We were sad to hear the movie theater had closed. Its still a great place to stay and would highly recommend it.

Family Vacation

This is an extremely family-friendly hotel. It's absolutely wonderful that we do not have to leave and there is something for everyone. We have a 17-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl, between my husband and I who like to gamble, there's something to keep everyone entertained. The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is always friendly and the waitresses in the cafe are always super sweet. That is our go-to breakfast spot. Pillows are a little too plump for our taste, but that's personal preference. The Infinity pool was actually semi-warm this time around; we visit multiple times during the winter and it's always hit or miss whether or not the temperature in the pool is okay to swim in. But the pool closes early and the only thing left at the hot tubs. The hot tubs are basically boiling temperature so not something that can be done for long. The only truly negative point about this hotel is that it runs really, really, really warm. It's impossible to get your room below 67° and the lower levels of the hotel where the arcade, spa, etc is is very hot! Like wear shorts and a t-shirt and you will still be sweating.

Kick off your shoes and stay awhile

It's a great option when visiting Reno, it is a fair value minus the resort fee, if you are arriving late and leave early it's a waste of money. However, if you have time to use the facility, there are a lot of things you can enjoy. The casino is a bit smoky - they need new air scrubbers. The staff is nice, the new ck self ck in is great! The rooms are nice and clean.
