We reserved a Family Suite which advertised having a king bed for parents plus a twin bed for a kid. What they gave us seemed like an upgrade compared to what was advertised: two adjoining rooms, one with a king bed, the other with two twin beds, so that our kid got her own room with its own bathroom. It did have an ”ocean view” in the sense that it faced a side street, but you could look to one side and see the beach and ocean (and look the other way to see the hill with the Christ.)
There was a small swimming pool on the roof. There wasn’t a hot tub, but the roof had excellent views day and night, and the roof level offered additional dining options. There was also a restaurant on the ground floor where we had a decent breakfast buffet every morning, which included fixings to make sandwiches for lunch as well. We also tried dinner in the restaurant once, although that area has lots of other dining options.
The location is a beautiful world famous beach in a nice neighborhood, right next to the famous Copacabana Palace. Even in a great part of Rio like this, we were still concerned about crime, and took precautions about where we walked at night and kept valuables such as our wallets in the room safe instead of carrying everything around with us.
