We were so grateful for an early check in after arriving from Hong Kong via Helsinki. Room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was a simple one but a bit chaotic with a large group trying to get tables ahead of couples and small families. Too much pressure on staff. Juice machine only produced water!

Exceptional Value

This was an exceptional experience for the money. We enjoyed the comfort and amenities of the rooms and the hotel at large. They provide a great breakfast option on the ground floor with a variety of hot and cold dishes, along with a great cappuccino maker. There was A/C in the room which was helpful for the hot June weather we experienced. They also had a roof garden bar perfect to enjoy a drink or snack before dinner. Or enjoy a lighter meal. The location was ideal for us, as it was minutes walk to the Termini train station. We read some reviews about that area not being so nice but we didn't find any issues at all with walking around the vicinity. Again, for the price we paid, this was an exceptional value. We would stay here again.

The room was clean. But dated, thin walls so you could hear everything inside the hotel. The cleaners start early so you hear them talking outside the bedroom door, and down the corridors. Good central location though.

Mixed bag

Extremely poor check-in service, rude & aggressive man on reception insisted on taking 100 euros cash as a guarantee against damage, and refused to give a receipt. After a hugely delayed stressful journey, there was no water cooler on arrival, just two small bottles (chargeable) in the mini fridge. Breakfast was great the first day but empty on the second- took a good 15 mins to refill anything. Beautiful room, spotless and lovely so from that perspective a top score. But really unwelcoming staff, apart from the lovely porter on the last day

This is a fine old hotel. The only problem was the transparent sexism by the front desk staff. When my wife offered her credit card, they would only look at me, her husband and gave me the receipt on her. When she spoke to them, they answered me, not her. It was very weird. And disconcerting. It was as though she was invisible, and I, as the man, was the only one who could be dealt with.
