Lemme preface this by saying that I have fairly low standards and at the end of the day, I don't really read bad reviews. I just want a bed to sleep in. Just gonna be honest about what I noticed: The beds and pillows are pretty hard. The bathrooms have everything you need but are kinda old and there was hair in the shower. There was also hair on the bed. There's an iron but no ironing board. The fridge didn't work and was stinky (specifically in 219) and the guy said he'd call maintenance but they never came. On the website they advertise free breakfast and a pool but there are neither, at least as of July 2025. The elevator makes funky noises but works - we still used the stairs. Could've been a personal issue but my card kept getting deactivated and we kept going back for more cards. The ice machine works, yay! It's downtown which means you're minutes from major restaurants, coffee shops, malls, etc. The AC makes rickety noises but works GREAT. Some sketchy people in the area. They didn't necessarily look threatening but I wouldn't walk around at night. General tip: Mormon 4th of July is on July 23rd I guess? Lots of fireworks from 10p-12a. Overall, it did the job but maybe not worth the 70/night. It's up to you.

It would have been good to know that they require a $100 CASH deposit, so we could have been prepared. The room needs lots of repairs, but the bed was comfortable and we slept well. Also, the info pictured a pool, but they told us no pool and had not been for a long time. That was VERY disappointing.

Room did no look anything like the picture. Bathroom floor had sticky stuff on it, garbage behind the fridge. The walls were dirty and so was the carpet. Wasn’t worth the money I had to pay for it.

This place is run down property; no one gives any attention to the cleaning; toilet broken; carpet dirty. The hotel also needed renovation from lobby to room. It needs totally gut. The only thing is it is so closer to downtown. You pay what you get.

Do not book this hotel!

After a delayed flight, we arrived at the hotel for check in. The front desk staff demanded a $100 in cash, saying if we didn’t have cash, we could not check in. We were surprised and stated we prepaid for our room and this hotel has never before required a large cash sum at check in. The front desk staff said the property was purchased by new owners and we either had to come up with $100 cash or he would not check us in. He refused to call a manager, refused to put the deposit on our bank card and refused to refund our prepaid room. He demanded that we use the ATM they have provided in their lobby. When we pointed out that the ATM screen said it was out of service, he said he couldn’t help us and it wasn’t his fault, it was ours for not reading some very obscure fine print in the reservation details. Very disappointing and we were left stranded in the middle of the night after traveling for 20 hours home from a trip overseas. The manager has yet to call us back after two days and we have not received a refund for a hotel stay they refused to let us use. We will never use this hotel again. It’s a shame because it used to be a great deal in the heart of the city and we’ve stayed there several times in the past.

Rude night cleck

The night cleck was intransigent. I called about my arrival on atramk aroaund 3 am, and he was pushing about arrival time (like I control amtrak trains). Harsh poilicy about x amount of cash deposit against stains on towers and sheets. He lacks manners. The place needs repairs (bath drain didn't work, sink was in bada condition, key cards and lock didn't work properly). If I knew the kind of night cleck's treament to customer, I would never booked that hotel.

I had a room in front of the washer and drier with it running until 12:30 at night and then started at 6:00 am again. Cockroach was in my room and the plumbing was not properly working and ceiling in th bathroom was peeling

... DO NO STAY HERE... UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE... this was a hotels.com will be the cheapest on the Hotels.com listings or always the one with just (1) left, get it now type of deal that literally went up for me moments after I selected it... Sooo many things and reasons it is almost beyond comprehension - in 30+ yrs of fairly regular business travel, the Metropolitan of Salt Lake is maybe my only official review ever... good or bad... it was a 90+ degree day in Salt Lake and Shortly after arriving and releasing my Uber. There was a line of people at a cash machine half a block away when I arrived at the cash machine after I was required to f leave a "cash-only" deposit of $100 (the guy after me had to pay $150, exactly! - zero'sThe hotell mgrs cas
