When I checked in, there was only 1 person at the front desk so I had to wait about 20 minutes for another customer that was complaining. After traveling, people want to get to their room and get settled. When I finally got to my room, there were no towels and the fridge was not fully stocked. When I called housekeeping and the front desk, no one answered so I had to go back downstairs and ask. I left my room and came back and still had no towels. My fridge was never restocked the whole time I was there. None of the staff seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. The buffet food was not good and it was too inconvenient to have to go to the front desk to make reservations every night for dinner. Thankfully, there’s a good selection of food options across the street.
What a beautiful resort. If you like to party, then this is the place, its right on the party strip. We will definitely be back!!!!

wonderful vacation! From the minute we walked in to leaving. Staff amazing helpful and present.I will be going back! One thing, need more lounge chairs by the pool. Night shows were good. Drinks were perfect. Loved the casino as well. beach was beautiful.Yes…..book it and have a beautiful vacation!
Property was very clean. Definitely a little older and could use some updates. But staff was very pleasant and friendly. All inclusive may not be worth it as restaurants where reservations are required were not very good. Buffets were better. Easily walkable to restaurants and shopping. Beach area was beautiful.
We weren’t offered an upgrade. We also experienced problems with our room key and it kept deactivating. The bartenders at the lobby bar need to study the drink's. Our room fridge was never refilled through out our entire stay.
This hotel needs lot to change, first, hotel is very old style and may need a new hotel manager.
Reception front desk wasn’t pleasant and we did’t feel welcome. Food was very disappointing and all staff need training a lot. We do travel many
Hotels in a year. This Barcelo was the worsened so far for money that we paid…

Barcelo exceeded our expectations. Everyone was very friendly, location was perfect right in front of a strip full of little stores and restaurants. If I had any complaints would be the “pillows” in the room were very uncomfortable
No upgrade was accommodated considering my status in Expedia . food selection is bad, service is bad … except for the Japanese restaurant they accolades my request with grace and willingness..
This was our first time staying at Barceló Aruba and there were some good and some not so good things. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly! We stayed Royal Level and were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were surprised
The property is in a very convenient location. Shopping and bars are directly across the street. The food is typical all inclusive food but I would say it’s above average. The only issue I had was that one of the rooms wasn’t prepared when I went to the room. I called and they rectified the issue immediately. The staff is very responsive and accommodating. I would definitely stay at this property again.

The location was great, in walking distance to local shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was the same just about every day, small things that mean a lot to people were lacking, know ice on your floor many times, cleaning around elevator's where people leave used items, the hotel needs some updating to there rooms.

I'll start off with the positives: every restaurant we went to for dinner on this resort. The restaurant staff was amazing. The Italian restaurant was fantastic along with the Mexican food restaurant, the sangria and the Mexican food restaurant was amazing. The buffets we had no complaints as the staff and the food selection was good. Another shout out to the bellhops as they are most happy, energetic folks and offered good information whom they ask about the island. One last shout out to the bartenders in the pool areas as they were very nice and talkative . We tipped all these people very well during our stay.
Unfortunately, here's a negative:
We checked in at 5:00 p.m. were not greeted by anybody other than the bellhops who were fantastic. Front desk staff acted like they were overwhelmed. Another concern is everybody's copies of their passportswere sitting in the wide open while we are checking in, easily stolen people's identity. That is a major concern.
We checked into our room after being awake for hours due to flight issues, ate a decent dinner. Then at 10:00 p.m. we had a knock on the door. It was our welcome bottle of wine they forgot. We kindly accepted even though we were awakened exhausted. Went back to bed and was woken up about 11:30 with a room squatter that would refuse to leave, a fight out in the hallway that security had to get involved in. Just fell back asleep and shortly after midnight the fire alarm system went off. Overall Barcelo fell well short
Our stay started well until Day two my partner noticed bites which he thought was mosquito bites. Day 3 he noticed more bites. We checked the sheets. Which we should have done day 1 but we were thinking this is a nice hotel and did not see anything. He was still getting bit so we looked again and there it was a bed bug clear as day. We made a video and took pictures and immediately went to the front desk to advise them of this issue. The Manager acted quickly and was accommodating and moved us to a new room but it took about 3 hours for them to get the room ready. So we waited and waited. I requested our clothes be washed which they agreed to. I appreciate the room change, however my partner walking around with bed bug bites to his face, nose, arms and back.I requested compensation for the time that was taken away from what should have been such a wonderful time. I waited to see if hotel would respond favorably. I did get an email 3 days later stating they would reimburse for one day and then the next day they changed the response to no compensation because there were no bed bugs after pest control investigated. So I believe they think we brought the bugs and faked the whole ordeal because I was told.. “Under no circumstances were there bed bugs in the room. So that is how this was handled. I felt insulted and upset that I was treated like I stayed at a 2 star hotel.
